What has your playtime with Cathay looked like? Or what factions did you pick instead?

I love Cathay. Not sure why, I just enjoy playing them. If it's a single thing for me, it's that I enjoy the caravan mechanic, finding ways to improve my caravan guards and sending them off adventuring into distant lands while I stay home and defend the homeland.

Great stuff, as always. I learn most of my campaigns by watching you, and then playing them myself. Always good and informative material, in addition to being entertaining.

Looking forward to seeing you back in Warhammer! Looking forward to this new campaign; I agree that focussing on one campaign at a time is probably the best option!

Coming back to heir channel after 2 years of my computer, glad to see some legendary gameplay, I'll watch with delay the series, playing along, commenting along the way, hope all is well for you heir.

Glad you're returning to Cathay Heir! I was wondering if you were ever going to do this. I hope some Cathay DLCs come out soon too.

Pretty glad to see one of the Lords I'm following give my favorite race an extended shot--this will be the 3rd campaign I'm watching that I'm HOPING will get to the Crisis and actually try to fight it. I think I'll also use this as my "training" for seeing how to properly play Cathay, as they will likely be my 1st campaign or two once I have a PC that can actually handle this game It felt really bizarre to be watching this after watching a no-commentary run of The Lost God: it got me thinking about long your current army--assuming you haven't recorded a massive blitz of episodes--would fare against the finale of that prologue (vs. Slavin Kurnz's army)

I haven't played as Grand Cathay yet in Immortal Empires, though I plan too once I start a campaign over the holiday break. I have played a Karl Franz and an Allarielle campaign in Immortal Empires and they were very fun.

I really like Cathay. Along with dead's Cathay unit pack, I use the Cathay artillery pack by Eustace. Seeing full gunpowder and artillery army's decimate my enemies is truly a sight to behold.

I always played Rome 2 and Shogun 2 for the last months. Seeing this game's battles is absolutly breathtaking

Miao Ying huh? Interesting choice here. It's good that you're back getting back into Warhammer 3. You're walking a very difficult road with legendary difficulty, very hard battles, and ultimate crisis mode. But I'm sure you can do, you'll succeed in leading Grand Cathay to glory and not let the Great Bastion fall. That or you'll fail and Cathay will burn from countless different invaders. No big deal, you got this, no pressure at all.

never played a total war but im binge watching bunch of lets plays of warhammer 3

Cathay is super fun! I would like to see Sun Wukong or another LL in the area, right now it's kinda empty and feels like early TWW1 in that region of the map.

I think the difficulty of the Cathay factions inverts in IE, kairos isnt here to threaten you, no need to rush the destroyed gate. Zhao on the other hand gets pinched between ghorst/grimgor/kugath and snikch/lokhir/nakai

I played as Grimgor for my first campaign and omg, i love his new start. I got lucky with Kholek and wiped him out before he finished off his first enemies.. turn 60+ still going strong lol

Hey Heir, long time fan here! Very happy about this playthrough, i was actually thinking about doing a long victoriy campaign with Miao Ying as well. What a timing! One thing though, that i'm always going for regarding the first commandmend is the one for the extra recruitment slot. So then you can have one more unit in your army, before you go on with conquering on turn 3. After that i switch to the public order one. But i really like seeing you play it as well :) P.S.: I'm usually a VH/N player now, used to be VH/VH in WH2, but now i enjoy normal more, so i can actually use my melee infantry. The only time i beat a legendary campaign, was in ME (WH2) with the Sisters of Avelorn. Really liked doing it with the wood elves and not have to paint half of the map!

Tried doing a high elf run on IE with Tyrion. Needless to say they didn’t fix the bug on one of his quests where the second enemy army doesn’t spawn. It ruined my experience.

I've never managed to finish Any campaigns the only Campaign I'm even close to finishing is Settra in WH2 and I just want to dominate the whole map for some reason XD

Enjoy the rome 2 stuff, but look forward to this campaign

Prince Imrik. Legendary / Hard. Got my arse handed to me on turn 15 xD That's a challenging campaign even on easier difficulties, so I kinda brought it on myself. Also... when you went through the artifacts the one you got from your caravan finishing; why not put an artifact with 25% spell cooldown reduction on, I don't know... your metal mage? xD Man that bugged me xD

For future dlc....clearly the next one is going to be the chaos dwarfs, but im really hoping that both cathay and kislev receive new units and legendary lords

How do you deal with skaven? They always seem to destroy me after dark elves declare war on me

Going to be honest, I read "Yao Ming" in the title

my biggest challenge in the campaign is that, when i get the train rolling, it becomes boring...i cant make myself finish the objectives..

You can have problems with Caravans O.o? Legit they are so dull. The armies that attacks you are 5 units (mostly goblins). There's no reason not to just jank up sale value and cargo capacity. Later on you can always reduce ambush chance. However Capacity --> Sale Value --> Replenishment should always be first picks. After that you can pretty much do whatever.

I waited and was able to get wh3 on 20% sale and ot the rest of wh2 dlcs with the chaos dlc for 3. I've been playing tzeentch, and 2 things I've noticed the ai is considerably worse than in 2 for tactics and resolves, and I really do not like the chaos rifts. The rifts are fine for going to them but the armeis they spew out are annoying ,distracting, settlement snipers. It's to the point I'm thinking of canceling the campaign(100+ turns) and starting a new with a mod to disable them. I'm going to give it another go with someone else, but so far I like the challenge of 2 better. The visuals are great, and my gtx 1650 handles it well. I like a lot about 3, just my first experience wasn't great. One good thing is I'm still excited to go back to 2 to play with all the new units from the dlcs.
