I was a huge Hal Blane Fan, long before I knew who he was. I crammed my drum set- bedroom/practice Studio, I played with Gospel records, Motown hits-live with choirs until, you name it,, I could play it. Then I heard Hal’s booming beautiful Tom Toms on a Fifth Dimension Album. Then a record producer moved on my block and explained how records were really made and all about “Studio Musicians” and how guys like Hal , were called “Studio musicians.”Guys who could specifically to “Get the Track”. That meant, if there was a chart,they could read it, they could play it better then what was written.

It's a fact; Hal played on the best Boomer music.

Geez I hope I'm Right but when I was a Young Lad I got a Jazz album called The Don Randi Trio ,Is this the same Don Randi? Who played Piano It would be great to put a face to that Album and as for Hal Blaine the greatest Recording Drummer from Sinatra to Beach Boys the Go to God of drums GOD REST his SOUL, It is so Great to see him just before he passed on. RIP HAL
