In the years immediately prior to the British Invasion, only one performer rivaled the chart dominance of Elvis Presley, and that was Pat Boone. Boone was the very essence of wholesome American values. At a time when the rise of Rock ‘n Roll was viewed as a sign of the apocalypse, he made the music appear safe and non-threatening, earning some 38 Top 40 hits in the process. Among his numerous awards and accolades, Boone has sold 45 million records worldwide, has 13 gold singles, two gold albums and a platinum album, and has recorded over 2,200 songs…more than any recording artist in recorded music history! Find out more about his latest projects and catch a live performance of "Grits" here on Huckabee!

It can't be proven there's a "God". And he was a JOKE pretending he was "rock and roll". The so-called "Christians" believed his act, but they've never been hip to anything outside their comfortable self-congratulation.

@@stephenwilliams9923 How many #1 hits did he have? And if you think his cover for whites-only radio of "Little "Richard's" "Tutti Fruiti is good music then you are a "Christain" before having knowledge or taste in music. You must LOVE anti-American Republican Michael Johnson for his attacks on the Constitutional separation of "religion" from gov't. If so, you are blinded by faithful ignorance.

It ìs good to see Pat still entertaining. As a teenager in Nashville, he led singing at Woodbury Church of Christ during revival. He had lunch with my Aunt & family. My cousin was upset she didn't ask for his autograph. Always a very nice man, lover of God & Country. May God continue blessing him.

The First Amendment separates "religion" and gov't, and gov't is by definition rule of law. It is the Constitution and laws that define "country," not emotionalism being mistaken for "religion".

I remember growing up in the 50's and 60's with an older sister playing all of Pat's records and dancing all over the house. My Mom would push the dining room table out of the way and my 2 sisters and her would dance all day on Saturdays. I loved the music and watching them. Those were wonderful days.

A lifetime ago, I saw him perform with the family at the San Diego fair. What a lovely man and the girls were beautiful and talented. After the show, he came down from the stage and ran through the crowd gave my wife a kiss on the cheek and shook my hand. The irony is, my wife had no idea who he was. Can’t believe he is still with us. Nice moment 45 years ago. 🙏💪🌏🌍🌎❤️🇺🇸🖖

Pat actually started his singing career in Denton, Texas. He married Red Foley's daughter and went to North Texas State University (UNT now). Red Foley had featured Sid King and the Five Strings from Denton. A rockabilly pioneer that was headlining shows when Elvis was at the bottom of the bill. Sid King helped Pat get started with his first gigs. Give Sid and Billy King credit where it's due.
