In 1821, Don Diego de la Vega, the legendary Zorro defends the Mexican peasants and commoners of Las Californias.
The Mask Of Zorro: When a power-crazed despot schemes to buy California from Mexico, it takes two Zorros--the legendary Don Diego de la Vega (Anthony Hopkins) and his chosen successor Alejandro Murrieta (Antonio Banderas), a dashing bandit-turned-hero-- to defeat the tyrant's unscrupulous plans. But can even their combined skills, bravado and derring-do be enough to achieve de la Vega's ultimate goal: revenge against the man who killed his wife, kidnapped his daughter and held him prisoner for twenty years?

Diego's Zorro seemed so jolly and fun, always grinning from ear to ear and teasing his enemies like someone who's been doing their job for a very very long time and loves what they do. You see some of that in Alejandro but he's more suave and romantic about it. Interesting difference between their personalities despite taking on the same role.

I prefer Diego's Zorro, as he always carried himself with dignity and honor. And honestly I find that Diego's background makes his Life of self. Sacrifice even more astonishing because, unlike Alejandro, he could never truly relate to being poor and destitute, and thus being forced to do sometimes the things poor people had to do just to survive. And yet, he took consideration and pity on those who were less fortunate than him, and rose up to be their defender. I think Diego's life and character could be brilliantly summed up by that one senator, who sided with Maximus in Gladiator, the older gentleman with the beard, whose name escapes me; when he said: "I don't pretend to be a man of the people. But I try to be a man for the people."

You know, this is my favorite part of the movie and not because the zorro fights a lot, no.. its because the little amount of him being younger that we saw here.. the director choosed well on showing us the legend first, this is how you are constanly amazed by the old character of antony hopkins, you see him as the zorro because of this scene, not only that, the reason why this zorro fights as an old man only makes him more human, they show us a smart guy taking good decitions. Of course this is a coreography, you can see it, but at least this is not a boring movie were even a woman without armor can defeat 20 guys like nothing, like the series loki for example or the avengers. Todays heroes do not have that tension, you know they are heroes and they will win every fight, thats why fights are boring and the spectator already knows whats the result, well, on this movie we see a character that commit mistakes, bleeds, someone saves him, but, at the end the hero loses everything.. like real life, you do not win everything, this zorro saved 3 guys and he losed his freedom. Ok, im not against it and thats the cost, but, thats what it makes him a hero, he risked something.

John 11:25-26 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: [26] And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? Are you saved? If you died tonight would you go to heaven or hell? The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell. 1 Timothy 3:16 KJV And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD WAS MANIFEST IN THE FLESH, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. John 1:1,14 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, 1 John 3:8 KJV He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Hebrews 2:14-16 KJV Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; [15] And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. [16] For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Isaiah 9:6 KJV For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. John 1:10 KJV He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and THE WORLD KNEW HIM NOT. John 20:28-29 KJV And Thomas answered and said unto him, MY LORD AND MY GOD. [29] Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. Acts 16:30-31 KJV ...what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. 1 John 1:8-10 KJV If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. GOD CREATED THE WHOLE UNIVERSE, INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL PLANTS, ANIMALS AND THE FIRST TWO HUMANS (ADAM AND EVE) IN SIX LITERAL 24- HOUR DAYS. GOD CREATED THE EARTH AS A GLOBAL PARADISE, THERE WAS NO DEATH, SICKNESS OR DISEASE. MAN LIKE ALL OF THE ANIMALS ATE VEGETATION. ALL WAS PERFECT. Genesis 1-2 GOD CREATED ADAM, THE FIRST MAN OUT OF DUST Genesis 2.7, GOD COMMANDS ADAM NOT TO EAT FROM THE TREE OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL BECAUSE, THE TREE WILL BRING DEATH Genesis 2:16-17 GOD MAKES EVE, THE FIRST WOMAN FROM ADAM'S RIB Genesis 2.18-23 ADAM AND EVE WERE NAKED AND NOT ASHAMED Genesis 2.25 THE DEVIL APPEARS TO EVE AS A SNAKE AND CAUSES HER TO DOUBT GOD'S WORD Genesis 3:1 THE DEVIL LIES, TO EVE AND SAYS THAT THEY WILL NOT DIE IF THEY TAKE FROM THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT. Genesis 3.3 ADAM AND EVE EAT THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT Genesis 3.6 ADAM AND EVE'S EYES WERE OPENED. THEY KNEW THEY WERE NAKED AND HID IN SHAME. Genesis 3.7 ADAM AND EVE ATTEMPTED TO HIDE FROM GOD Genesis 3.8 GOD CURSES THE DEVIL Genesis 3.14 GOD PROPHESIES OF HIS REDEMPTION OF MAN AND THE DEFEAT OF THE DEVIL Genesis 3.15 GOD MULTIPLIES THE WOMAN'S SORROW AND CONCEPTION AND HAS THE HUSBAND RULE OVER HER Genesis 3.16 GOD CURSED THE GROUND FOR ADAM'S SAKE. THORNS AND THISTLES WERE BROUGHT FORTH Genesis 3.17 THE HUMAN BODY WILL RETURN TO DUST Genesis 3.19 GOD CLOTHED ADAM AND EVE Genesis 3.21 GOD DROVE ADAM AND EVE OUT OF THE GARDEN Genesis 22-24 THROUGH ADAM, CONDEMNATION CAME UPON ALL MEN AND ALL BECAME SINNERS. Interesting replies here. Because the europeans used christianity to crush and opress the entire world.... that's why Romans made it up. So you guys are willfully slipping on the chains of opression, mistaking it for freedom. ❤😊

2:06 Zorro would've had time to hide behind the wagon, I mean Alejandro when he wanted to prevent the train to blow up with his family had plenty of time to prevent Joaquin from getting shot by McGivens and still not be hit by the bullet in the Legend of Zorro

Zorro(1957) with Guy Williams was my favorite !!!!!!
@hp2546
@hp2546 2 ай бұрын
I remember Guy Williams. Now to compare it to Legendary Zorro (1998), this whole thing about Diego losing his family. That would explain why Guy Williams who played young Diego had a father who didn't approve of getting married while being Zorro. Diego's father was afraid that marriage will end up being more important then his legacy of being Zorro. I mean we now see what happens to this Legendary Zorro which was 1998 version of Zorro. The military leader followed the clues and found out that Diego is Zorro, killed Diego's wife and took his daughter Elena. So when you watched this 1957 version, it is proven that Diego's father stopped his son from going through the marriage so that he don't end up like this 1998 version of Zorro. Diego's father has a strong belief that Zorro needs to remain single. 1998 Zorro did not stay single so I would assume when Diego's father is not around, Diego would choose to get married and have kids while being Zorro. So we can be proud that Diego's father stopped his marriage because he can end up losing his legacy a lot earlier then expected.

Plus that Zorro (1957) version demonstrated he can speak English, Spanish, German, and French. So Guy Williams will play young Diego. That had to be the Diego that never went through marriage yet.

In fairness that's because Batman is heavily inspired by Zorro, both in and out of universe. In universe Bruce Wayne was inspired by the Grey Ghost and Zorro (it was the Mark of Zorro that he and his parents went to see that fateful night they died in that alley) while in the real world Batman was a heavy blending of Zorro, The Phantom, The Green Hornet and the like.

What did you expect? Guy Williams and Anthony Hopkins played Don Diego de la Vega. Guy Williams plays young Diego while Anthony Hopkins plays senior citizen Diego. So we can assume they use these 2 people to describe how Diego's life from beginning to end. Guy Williams would describe how Don Diego's Zorro legacy got started. Anthony Hopkins would describe how Zorro legacy ends.

That new Zorro have got to be called Alejandro II because Diego's father goes by the name Don Alejandro de la Vega. What happened next in the movie Legends of Zorro is that new Zorro took Diego's father's full name. In Disney Zorro, Diego's father is called Don Alejandro de la Vega. So in Disney Zorro, the owner of the house belongs to Don Alejandro de la Vega. Then in Legends of Zorro, that same house belong to another Don Alejandro de la Vega. I guess Diego never told his student that he has a same name as his father.
