Alexa can not just return normal and completely forget how we left off. Alexa Bliss has to already be dark and aligned with Uncle Howdy when she returns given where we left off with her and all the time that has passed.

But they could make everyone happy if they brought her in as a sort of Mother Mary to Bray and then worked it that way for a while until revealing that it was all a set up. Kind of like how the Theater das Vampire did Claudia in interview with a Vampire.
