What a awesome documentation of one the greats playing baseball and we had the honor in saying he was a Dodger in all sense of the word. And we had the pleasure in seeing him play in Los Angeles....thank you!

Chokes me up so much, such a beautiful moment in time, I had just turned 12 years old and was in my first year of Jr. High when this happened. I remember running up and down my living room and calling all my cousins and friends. Even as a young kid I knew how special it was and how long you have to wait to witness another moment like that. The closest I can think of as memorable as this one was Cody Bellinger's 7th inning against Atlanta in Gm 7 of NLCS 2020.

I see Kirk Gibson 2-3 times a week at golf course. I cut fairways. Sometimes we chat. He usually plays alone, an old warrior moving more slowly and deliberate. His golf swing is the same as his baseball swing. He is a heroic figure.

I was a long time Tiger fan, and Gibby was a big part of the Tigers' success in the '80's. Was disappointed he left, but I did pay lots of attention to the Dodgers after he went there ..... honestly it didn't surprise me he hit that homer off Eckersley. It was Gibby's moment to shine, all the way, and he would never back down. It's good to see the Dodger's give him a permanent place in the Legends.

That's one of greatest memories I have in my life ,my father and the whole family was running all over the house and almost crying of happiness

My dad was at that game with the World Series Home Run. Then 29 years later, he took me to Game 6 of the WS against Houston. I've seen this moment lots of times on KZfaq.

That was heavy. He broke my heart in 88. I was just a kid and it took many years for me to appreciate him

I grew up a Tiger fan until the 1981 MLB strike which completely turned me off to MLB. To me, Gibson was just an average player with occasional power and definitely not worth the accolades many people give him. Off the field he was/is a complete a'hole, always refusing to sign autographs for even little kids that approached him. Since he lived in Grosse Pointe, I know several people who had that unfortunate encounter with him. As a now TV analyst for the Tigers, he's a waste of time and more boring to listen to than a speech on frog reproduction. The "Flying Sklarski Sisters" is all you need to know about his life style as a ball player...... And don't invite me to a pity party for Gibson and his Parkinson's. I play senior softball with several seniors with Parkinson's that are way more pronounced than Gibson's and they are functioning just fine.......... Gibson is an egotistical, narcissistic jerk and always has been...........
