You talked through the reason he gave his dad the emerald, apparently his dad only became violent after he went to prison. Before he wasn't abusive to his wife and kids. So Snart tried to stop his dad going to prison, to keep him a decent (ish) father.

The whole thing with Vandal Savage asking the names of RipHunters wife/child. This feels like some kind of paradox, where RipHunters actions trying to defeat Savage are ultimately the reason his wife and child were targeted in the first place? But he's also acting to avenge them. erm my head hurts.

For what I see they were in a building full of Savage's minions. They didn't go there to kill him but to find out what the vessel was. And it happened to be Hawkman's body. We saw in Arrow that even if Vandal was reduced to ashes there's still a chance for people bring him back by some mystical means (probably that was what Malcolm Merlyn did). So trying to toast him wouldn't do much good. And they had the chance to bring only one body with them (lots of minions and lack of time). Carter's was the choice. They owe him that. That's what I understood from that. But to nitpick that a little, it felt a little rushed.

I think Savage is kinda being portrayed as a vampire in terms of immortality so he wakes up after some time. I think Constantine restored Sara's soul so she had her memories and personalities which brought her to Thea's level imo.

All I know is this Egyptian thing with Randell Savage is a CW thing, I only know him from the Justice League cartoon, and from there he was a cave man that stumbled onto some kind of either meteorite or Alien tech don't remember which, it's radiation then mutated him, making him evolve he then became smarter than the other cave men and became an immortal. So as far as I know he had nothing to do with Hawk girl or Hawk man.

My favorite Non-Snart related thing about this episode was that Savage finally came off like the intimidating force of nature he's supposed to be. Him threatening Hunter's family after having his own throat cut was kind of terrifying. Keep it up Casper Crump! Speaking of Crump. I just looked the guy up and he kinda looks like Paul Blackthorne without his beard. It's freaky.

You guys seem unnecessarily confused about the blood-lust thing. Basically Constantine never got rid of her blood-lust, he just restored her soul to her body because when the pit revived her she was just a shell of herself that wanted to kill whoever killed her. The next episode she was in after her restoration her blood-lust came back during a mission and she left Star City to go figure it out. You probably need to go re-watch those episodes or something, because there was NEVER a moment where they were like "Oh Sara doesn't have any blood-lust because of Constantine". Which totally negates your comments about this week's Arrow where you guys were confused about Thea's blood-lust and wondered why she can't just get John Constantine to fix her. Hopefully that clears up some confusion.

Q&A: Savage rises to power in 2166. The Reverse Flash was born in 2151. That means he would have been a child in the Savage wars. However, as an adult, he makes no mention of an overlord, and visits the Flash museum, and mentions that the governments are still around. Does this imply that Savage is somehow overthrown following his conquest, and if so, doesn't that make the whole story Rip sacrificing the timeline to save two people?

I dont know if you guys have watch the vampire diaries/originals however in that world, you can snap the neck of a vampire and technically they are dead, however to permanently kill them you stake them through the heart. I feel this is like that, you kill him, but unless you stab him through the heart with that blade he will regenerate and come back to life.

q+a i feel like Savage's immortality is the same as Jack Harkness in Torchwood. He will 'die', but then wake up once his body has healed. QnA: In your previous QnA, you were discussing if Eoabard Thawne will appear in Legends of Tomorrow someday. My theory is that yes, he will. In comics, he is born in the 25th century. But as we can already know, he was born in 22th century in CW universe. In the finale of season 1 of the Flash, Barry asks him when he was born and Eobard answers, and I quote, "136 years from now". That means 2015+136. That's year 2151, 15 years before the "ultimate events" in Legends of Tomorrow. By the time Vandal Savage got to the power, Eobard was 15 years old. It's very possible that in some future episode, The Flash will come to this year (2166) with others, saves Eobard or Eobard will see him saving others and becomes a fan. Which he eventually becomes. (Thus he doesn't know which time period Flash is from). Or maybe Eobard Thawne died and by stopping Vandal Savage, they save the future, therefore they save Eobard Thawne - an ultimate villain as bad as Vandal Savage - so the time will correct itself. Every story needs a villain. And since we saw Eobard only as an adult, he might not know about these events that have had happen, because they... didn't happen. But if the time works as a cement, second part of this 'theory' might be false. But Thawne was born in 2151 nontheless. What do you guys think? Literally watched the episode with my dad and pointed out why they couldn't just take him back to the ship...or put him in a box, surround it in concrete and dropped into the ocean...or thrown into the sun and/or into space...they like stabbed him and were like "Okay, he's taking a little nap" and left the body. Take his body with them and throw it in space or in time limbo. Even if he is mystical and can't be contained, they could throw him in space. Throw him on orbit to the sun. There is also the time limbo they showed in the first episode. Hell, have Kendra stab him while he is down. She is weakened, not paralized. So many options, after all, he was basically helpless until he regenerated. They just had to keep him dead. Kill him again just as he revived. Tie him up. He is immortal, not invincible. Kinda silly scene that Rip just cut his throat and left like that. I know, I know. The show has to keep going. But if they were going to hide savage behind Plot Armor, they could have written the scene differently so he wasn't so defenseless. He could have gotten away or jumped off the building. The fact that they just left him there like that felt so weird. Plus, you don't instantly die from having your throat slit.

Q and A legends of tomorrow : I think they didnt take Vandal back to the wave rider because if he regained consciousness before Kendra was healed he could easily over power them and steal the time ship. Since Rip and the others dont know if Kendra is ok or still injured the risk wouldnt be worth it.

Regarding His death I think he does die but it takes time for the wounds to heal. Also he can escape being tied up, when we first saw him it happened.

He succumbs and dies from his injuries but immediately gets revived. He is immortal, he isn't like Kendra and Carter, he doesn't reincarnate.

QNA I think its dangerous to go back very far, example if Rip had killed Vandel in Egypt then that would alter history too much, Savage said he was the cause of ww1 so if you take Savage away it may not happen or something worse could happen to take its place because as we saw with Leo's father time fixes itself sometimes. So they have to be careful how far they go back the 70's was probably the point were they can intervene and not cause too much damage to the timeline. So we may not be going back further in time.

Q+A: Assuming that Carter (Hawkman) will return to the cast in a few episodes, how do you think he will be found? +Blind Wave Savage is far too dangerous to be kept captive aboard the Wave Rider, considering he has vastly greater experience and knowledge than even the likes of Ra's al Ghul. In her state, Kendra wouldn't have had the strength to take him down for at least a couple of days, giving him ample time to break out and finish her off. Add to that the fact that he can recover from ANYTHING, even getting a meteor the size of a small house dropped onto him from orbit, and you've got a nasty, genius supervillain with magical artifacts and an army to back him up. As for the artifacts themselves, it isn't so much magic that gives them power as the Nth element imbued within them, hence why Savage was able to use the dagger to cast that energy beam (and in the Flash-Arrow crossover, Barry and Oliver were able to use the Staff of Horus against him). Magic is what holds Savage together in this universe, but the Nth metal in the artifacts plus the reincarnated duo equals disruption of magic, hence a way to end his immortality. If I'm not mistaken, even in the comics only certain people can wield the full power of certain Nth metal vessels. Hawkgirl has her mace, Hawkman either an axe or sword--I forget which is traditional. When Hunter tried to kill him in the past, it would've worked, because the calamity that gave him his immortality hadn't struck just yet. But now that his life is tethered to a magical cycle, it'll take the disrupting force of Nth element to sever that tie.

So for example now it was three episodes in the seventies, so next is a eighties-trilogy and then three episodes for the next era. I totally feel like a writer from Arrow thought "Hey, I'm sure they are not gonna do the blood lust thing on LoT, let's add a line about Constantine so it doesn't contradict itself", while at the same time a writer from LoT though "Hey, I guess we have to do the blood lust thing so we don't contradict ourselves", and now as clearly this two writers didn't talk to each other, it still makes no sense.

In one of the comic storylines involving him, Savage regenerates from heavy damage to his body through consumption of DNA from his own bloodline. Maybe showrunners twisted this story to fit their show. Savage needs to consume DNA of Hawks to heal his wounds AND be immortal. It's unclear if he can actually heal his wounds by himself. Savage is one of the most inconsistent DC supervillains when it comes to powers.

Is Savage really Immortal? If I'm not mistaken, I heard that only Hawkgirl can kill him permanently. I guess since she is the one that Savage loves.

I think that Savage hasn't any superpowers, he's only immortal. And he's like "behind the scenes boss" type of villain. He's like Kingpin but immortal :-) I expect that in later episodes, we'll see his "regeneration". Don't forget the Arrow episode when he ended as dust and still "resurrected" by Merlyn. So fire doesn't kill him probably. Now we know that it's extremely hard to kill him and in next episodes we'll get more information about it. It's only 3 episodes now. I know it's theoretically easy to kill someone but this isn't real world, in comics it's hard to kill villains :-).

It was pretty annoying that they had Vandal Savage incapacitated and just left him there with no explanation why other than 'oh well, there wouldn't be a show if they did that'. The writers could have at least had a bunch more people come in and force them to retreat or something.
