I've played against Mardu cheat-Kroxa-into-play decks like that before, but only in Play queue. I guess Discover combo winter makes the perfect environment for playing that in ranked.

I've been playing this deck for the last few days and it is awesome. Bloodletter is incredible in duplicates. Warlock class is great for card selection and to initiate pings, then the last level is a finisher. 2 Bloodletter with one full Warlock class and a creature dying is 20 life loss. 1*2*2=4 for the end of turn creature dying trigger, then the other end of turn trigger does 4*2*2=16. And it's all life loss not damage. I've beaten two Nine Lives + Solemnity locks because of that.

WAIT WHAT?! After coming back to make this comment I realize I've been playing in Historic the last couple days and not Explorer. That's even more ridiculous. It's holding up against an even higher level of decks. I'm in diamond and I know there's MMR and deck matching at play, but this just blew my mind.

at 19:05 it was probably better to play the murderous rider. Because of the way curious obsession works even if they drew a creature the turn after they could not enchant it because without attacking the enchantment just falls off. but it didn't really matter with how far behind the other play was.

I think what would be fun for this deck would be a one-off copy of Torment of Hailfire. You can generate a lot of mana with this deck and while its not the most competitive option, i think getting a commander win in constructed is really funny

i think at the end of the last game, the opponent only had one possible play: block with a 4/4 and the 0/2 and sac only lands and the blood token. dont think they saw that xD

This has to be one of the more flavorful black decks too -- black devotion, warlock class, doubling down on the Loss of Life strategy, summoning demon vampires and bats and such -- nice

First opponent: I made a deck that shut down any ETB effect. I'm tired of losing to that stupid discovery combo deck. Another guy: Wow that's genius dude. First opponent: Yes, I know. I want to see how anyone will win against me now. Another guy: Good, but how do you win? First opponent: Huh? What do you mean? Another guy: Well...what is your wincon? First opponent: Huh? Another guy: I guess you didn't think things through enough, eh?

The first opponent is an example of the MTGA algorithm. Makes no sense that this matchup would happen so quickly otherwise when an opponent somehow has the right "counter cards". IF you play on MTGO vs MTGA you will notice drastic differences in your matchups.

The algo is why I quit playing. If you start to get too many wins you will magically start playing opponents who have the 1 obscure card that recks your entire deck.

LVD builds a deck based on ETB. Obviously, his first opponent is a deck that shuts off ETBs. That's one of the reasons I've stoped playing Arena... (but I keep watching and liking your videos, though 🙃).

100% agree! It's the reason I quit playing Arena as well. The algo is rigged AF. I just want random, but WoTC needs a way to "reward" their bad players who pay lots of $$$.

Idk if Cavern of souls is in arena but def should have 2ish copies in the deck in my opinion, ok most creatures in deck don't share a creature type but that's fine you only need it to cast Gary without getting countered, or obliterator worse case scenario you use it's colorless ability to pay for nythkos

11:15 How exactly is it 6 extra damage? Should be either 4 or 8 depending on whether having two triggers doubles each other or only doubles the original damage twice.

It's visually confusing, but 2+6=8 still adds up. They're not actually triggered abilities but the animation doesn't seem to happen all at once.

I crafted a couple of cards to try it and I must it's an absolute garbage. I have no idea why but the shufflers seems to bug the fuck out of this deck for whatever reason. On 30 games, I had 5 games with 4 nikdos in around 20 cards. Sometimes 3 in the starting hand and 2 in a row are between rare and common. I have NEVER seen that in my entire magic career. I play a lot of monogreen devotion and that must have happened maybe 1/500 games to have 3 nikdos. Never seen 4 EVER. Also all games are pretty much over before you get your devotion going so yeah. Sheoldred is much better than obliterator and also fatal push over cut down Played 50 more games with it, plenty more games with triple nikdos in a row from the shuffler. Don't craft this deck.
