@@PikkabuuI think more that it's the fact with most of these weapons, it's extremely difficult if not impossible to not have collateral damage or long-term problems for the populace, and the Salamanders don't like that.

Apparently the STC for Phosphex was destroyed by a Mechanicom adept with some actual morals... which sucks because only a few years later the Tyranids showed up and Phosphex would be the best shit ever to use against them since it burns without oxygen. Just chuck a couple canisters at a Tyranid fleet before turning around and running away and you'd kill them all in space!

It was not banned. Some Mechanicus Adept decided it's so evil, He destroyed the STC with recipe. So now it's rarely used because of limited amount.

Phosphex was so deadly that a Word Bearer terminator dropped dead after walking through it. His buddy barely survived, having been exposed to the void to kill off the Phosphex that was burning him.

A couple of death guard terminators took off their helmets and walked through the shit, just to prove they could. They died and no one saw what they did so maybe not the best idea.

Fun fact the nemesis chapter of the Ultramarines was their destroyers and during the battle of Calth when they encountered the Word Bearers Gal Vorbak they figured the whole legion had been co-opted by xenos and began fighting back.

The coolest Ultramarines. Guilliman was considering disbanding them after they crusaded alongside the Night Lords and adopted some of their tactics, and then the Betrayal at Calth happened and they proved their worth. Fun fact: the Chronicle of Ash was a Gloriana-class battleship in the service of the Word Bearers(and probably had the coolest name of any 40k warship). The Ultramarines captured it, purged all the heresy from it, and christened it the Lex Talonis, which became the flagship of the Nemesis chapter following the Second Founding.

Phospex and rad weapons will turn a mining planet into a non-habitable deathworld and its resources too poisonous/dangerous to be of use. They are weapons of spite that permanently denies the enemy any resources of conquered territories.

They didn't use destroyer weaponry. They were modelled after destroyer formations, but not destroyers. The sanctioned weapons are specifically rad missiles/grenades and phosphex. This was by Vulcan's mandate.

To EVERYONE claiming Phosphex would counter Tyranids, did ya'll forget that the Hive Mind ADAPTS all future Tyranids to resist whatever's thrown at them? So no, Phosphex isn't the counter to the Tyranids, it would just be a delaying tactic at best, desperation at worse.
