After 40+ years of war gaming across many, many systems I still believe that Epic Space Marine 2nd ed was the best-balanced war game I have ever played, a scale that felt, well epic - you could still appreciate the mini's but there was enough of them that you felt like you were war gaming and not involved in a glorified skirmish with ridiculous range bands. The rules balanced objective VP's with an excellent break point for VP's unit system, making attrition really meaningful. The hidden orders and you go I go turns created incredible tension and an excellent simple application of a quasi-fog-of-war. It nicely balanced simple with engaging with nuanced strategy. This Legion Imperialis looks like it is taking a lot of the DNA and that game, and I am so all in if it does, the hype for me is real.

I hope you can make a rule breakdown for the game. Your quality of video would be amazing. Promise to spread the video throughout several Facebook groups

Thanks for that Chris, blimey, twice in a week, does this mean we're going out? 😅 Dark 'Angles' look a bit restrictive, but seems stronk! I really hope you're on the radar for some pre-release stuff, I'm quite concerned the game will struggle if it's just sent to the bigger channels that have to do the 40k crap for views (i have a couple of freinds on the getting it early list)

I 3D print and can do most rhe range before anything is released. But i olan getting the boxes set and all the infantry sets to support the hobby. But ive been trialing white undercoat, a light flesh wash in the armour joinds, a black wash in the groin, inner elbow and back of the knee areas. Paint the boltgun black. Then contrast Imperial fists yellow over. My god it makes it so easy. Lol Be careful to not leave much of the wash stains on the open areas of the armour as it will show through. But makes painting in large numbers at a small scale easy.

Being an old Guard player happy to have a command structure, may miss a commissar or two.... a little glad that its delayed as have 2nd edition eldar and 5th edition warhammer eleves to clear off the table. Have been watching the HH videos, really enjoying them.

With the launch delay, I'm guessing they found massive problems in the books, probably unit costings, and pulled them back to reprint.

Skeptical cat is skeptical. Someone's just likely just taken the teased rules & added some made up some for their favorite Legions. Why else would Dark angels get an entire paragraph of rules while & World eaters just get "you reroll an attack"

I'm just hoping they keep the stats accurate to how they were reflecting hoe they should be. Like hoe space marines were in Epic. If they try make the solar auxila and legiones astartes not too different in stats it'll be what makes the game stale.
