Looks like it was a very sturdy building at the time. They had to use I-beam cutters to dismantle it. I hope most of it was recycled and not choking our landfills which are becoming scarce When they tore down Shea Stadium they recycled all the steel.asphalt mortar.cement blocks and bleacher seats. The seats went for big money for the collectors who purchased them

The mortar for the brick sections was very weak and no ties between inner and outer skins.

Interesting, John, that the building dated from the 1970's. In the UK that style would probably be called neo Queen Anne. I did wonder when I saw the reinforced concrete frame and that the actual bricks were only a skin that the building was probably not early 20th Century as I had suggested in a previous comment. I don't suppose as much care will be taken to make the replacement buildings fit in! Do you have slate in the US? - I know that Welsh slate is sold around the world. Just thinking of the waste of resources and the man hours taken to quarry and fashion the slates just for them to be smashed.

The chimneys were false, nothing underneath the top bits!, i wouldn't want the job of sorting out the metal from the rest!

Did you pass the filming onto someone else this time John ? The constant zooming in and out and moving the camera around is not your usual high quality this time.
