I really like this set. I feel like most of the modulars bring something new, interesting, different. I enjoyed building it a lot, and while its not perfect it definitely has a place in my heart.

I think I understand why the vet doesn’t allow snakes. The vet is *Dr. Jones* which could imply Indiana Jones who doesn’t like snakes

yes I was triggered by this and had no doubt about the reference, as the sign says "no snakes". There is definitely a backstory to this inclusion.

xGhostCat I was thinking the you could enter the car wash where the stairs to the vets office is (move those stairs somewhere) and keep the exit where the garage is so you can drive on through with a right turn in the middle maybe.

@@brettnapier5541 that's definitely an interesting idea but usually those types of car washes put cars on an automated track so it would be difficult for the car to make a 90-degree turn in a tight space like that. since they do go with a kind of old school thing though it could just be one of those drive in and back out type hand car washing places instead of one of the more modern drive-thru ones.

To me this is the essence of a classic lego set, because they always had a gas station and originally Lego was all about making a classic town, and this really fits that mold to a T. I was definitely unimpressed on my first impression, but looking at it more I really love the color, especially dark orange, because it's the closest you can get to a real-world brick color, so I think it has a lot of use for custom builds. However, I also really like this set, and I especially like the guy's apartment. I just think it's so funny they made a spartan bachelor pad, it's really quite realistic in that sense. Sure, there's no shower or table, but sometimes trying to get all the accurate detail over-clutters the space which isn't realistic either, so some compromises are acceptable. The vet's lab is great too, and getting a few animals in the set is a nice bonus. All in all I think this is a real sleeper of a set. It doesn't wow you, but I appreciate that about it, it's a little more realistic and subtle, I am really impressed!

Haha I like that window print for the vet. “Dr Jones Animal Care - No Snakes”. That’s obviously an Indiana Jones reference because he is called Dr Jones by Shortround and his archeology students when he’s teaching... and we all know that he’s afraid of snakes so yeah. A nice reference to Indiana Jones.

Orange Commander I think you could easily flip the 2nd and 3rd floor , so the vets sign is more visible

i feel like the smiley faces helped define the modular buildings as they are. but now that the faces have changed, and that the modulars are becoming more modern, i feel like the sets are losing their originality that so many of us love.

I was hoping they wouldn't release another corner modular for awhile! The concept is good but its definitely lacking in detail that we're used to seeing. 1st is okay, 2nd looks the best!

There's always one corner on the back of the box, and 3 buildings on the box. It follows that every third building is a corner. or every 1st, seeing as the started with a corner...

I agree with you that the stairs going up from the garage should have a wall to separate. I also think it is weird to walk through a vet's office to get to your apartment. The apartment is lacking, but if it is upgraded to a 48 x 48 baseplate instead of 32 x 32, there will be more room.

I liked certain elements, including the façade on the building, the colors used for the gas station section, and the elements for opening and closing the garage door and raising and lowering the hook on the tow truck. However, it lacks that sense of humor that was evident in the Bank building (other than the Indiana Jones - no snake bit). The bank building/laundromat and the detective office had stories to their design, which I really enjoyed, but LEGO didn't follow through with that on the fifties diner set or the town square. And I do think there should have been a car for the tow truck to, well, tow.

I feel the apartment could use a fridge ans some walls to separate the bedroom off, maybe a different bathroom, but that's it. Maybe ill take this set in to LDD and mod that in, oh wait, LDD doesn't have the 1x2 tiles with the rounded edges, dang it. As for the garage, i feel its only really missing a parts shelf, ive been in a garage like that one before, and they did pretty well.

If you're new to Modulars, go for an older set like Parisian Restaurant or Detective's Office before gone-those are both better architecture and interiors. Assembly Square also awesome-though more costly. Watch for this to go on sale for $20 off at a later time-which is the price it should have been set at.

I feel annoyed that recently, Lego has been making new parts or redisigning parts. The fun of Lego was trying to figure out creative ways to use existing parts. The only recently made parts that don't bother me are 26047 and 32828, because I've wanted parts like those for a while. I feel like Lego has been releasing too many new parts in the last few years.

I think Lego got a little greedy. Only 100ish more pieces than other modulars and yet $30-40 more expensive then them, too. Dr.Jones...No snakes. 😁 But at this loftier price point does the build belong in a museum? I'm not so sure.

I like the set a lot. Just some minor complaints: -no wall behind the sofa, -handrails for the stairs for safety -should have put a wall for the stairs leading to the 2nd floor. Animals should be protected from the smell of the garage -3rd seems like a throw away. Weird placement for the bed so close to the kitchen. I might convert this into a shop. Maybe a pet grooming salon or a pet shop since I don’t have that modular

Hm. If I buy this set I'll have to do much detailing on the inside. I don't like buildings that are only ornate on the outside. This one really is a step backwards compared to the last modular buildings. Looks unfinished.
