When you see cracks in your garden like that, you know its time to run! Happened in Norway not so long ago because the oversatured earth on top of the rocks slides off at a certain point when the tensions get too high.

When the first car went in I knew the house was a goner. I just hope everyone in the bunker was able to make it out safely.

This experiment is only viable when talking about beach erosion and sand. Most bunkers built underground and dug into hardpack soil and clay. Totally different concept.

I feel so bad for those people. Trapped behind a glass wall where they can see the freedom of a waterless zone just centimeters away but with way to escape, they slowly drown.

This could have worked if it was solid ground and not sand. Sand is less resistant against water. You could prepare the scenario some days before to emulate the grounds real resistance of water. Just soaking it a bit until the dirt gets more solid.

Nice underwater scenery, interesting* to see how the water soaks into the sand and makes a weird lip around the edge of the water as its going up

What about ground that has a root structure giving it more support? The all-sand is a little unrealistic since clay and actual soil react differently, but another factor would be plant life and roots giving another layer of support not seen in this video where I think it should be.

Ah yeah. Loosely packed sand is not the same thing as densely packed clay and stone set under 1000s of psi for millions of years.

I think these videos are cool! Sure, no one makes a dam from sand, but I've seen plenty or earthen dams fail due to water penetreation.

Both erosion and humidity are responsible for landslides and landslides here in Brazil, this tragedy happens a lot with deaths, on slopes of mountains and mountains improperly occupied...

When I lived in Costa Rica I used to pass a few homes next to a river. The bridge was just downstream maybe 100 yards. The river bank eroded like in this video and eventually the houses fell in one by one. They tried moving the channel but 7 months worth of rain does what it wants.
