I get ambers in the game but I do not know how to become the dinosaur themselves. Do I need to do something else then collect the Amber? Is there a special way to get into the dinosaurs? I know I sound stupid. I have the Xbox one version if that helps.

Select it in the character free play menu.

You can select the small dinos from your character selector but for the medium and the big dinos you can only summon them from blue plates that lie around in the worlds. You can only summon the mosasaurus in the giant pool in Jurassic World and pterasaurs in the aviary in Jurassic park 3 and Jurassic World.
