these are amazing, but it is rly upsetting to me that lego is choosing to only make very expensive lotr sets, I wish they launched a wave of smaller more affordable sets so us poorer fans can get something too

I wanted the Fell Beast, but now I learned it's a GWP

1.) The build and interior is immaculate, even if I cannot see where all the bricks are going from the pics. The light needs a toggle to stay on. 2.) The Orcs and baddies look great. However, Gollum looks a bit off and less iconic than his 2010s LEGO version. Missed opportunity to use long Avatar legs and arms for Sauron. 3.) The heroes are lazy, inaccurate reuses that look nothing like Frodo and Sam from this point in the film. 4.) The Felbeast GWP is less than inspired. A few Nazgûl should've been in the set, if not the Fellbeast itself. (But better, of course.) 5.) Or LEGO could actually make smaller sets, like a proper Fellbeast with the Witch King, Éowyn, Pippin, and Théoden. The Brickheadz aren't doing it.

Now I'm hoping they'll make a brick build figure of Sauron

I really wanted that Fell Beast, it looks like it has amazing parts. But nope, it's a GWP The good news is because it's such a short timeframe depending on the store you can probably get it from backlog GWP. Sadly as my nearest Lego store is the Disney Springs one, I may not be so lucky.

I love how detailed and different each of the normal orcs in this set are. They have much more detail and care put into them than lot of main characters from other franchises.

I kind of wish they made the fell beast a mold like in the Videogame included with the set instead of a separate brick built one.

That promo looks terrible. I was excited for the set, but now, after seeing the promo, double vip will definitely be a much better draw to get the set. Sauron should have been taller than the other figures as well.

I feel bad mainly for the younger kids who won’t be able to afford this. The introduction of the 18+ line has been great for AFOLs, however this means more expensive sets and less opportunities for cheaper themes with unique IPs and kids who will be able to grow up with and enjoy these sets.

I’m going to buy that Barad-Dûr on June 5th.

The Barad-Dur set looks great as expected. I like the way the brown/black colors were used, the rocky terrain looks fun to build, the interiors look interesting, and Sauron's eye looks outstanding. Sauron looks fantastic and the rest of the figures look great too (the one exception being Gollum; his arms look weird). Not likely to get it immediately. Idk if I want to get it first day (I like the Rivendell set more), but I might; would be a fun set to build while rewatching the trilogy. Fellbeast looks pretty good for the most part. I've heard some complaints on the color and that it should be black, but the actual version we see in the movies looks more dark grey. The one main issue is the lack of eyes at the front. Even if they are very squinty (or from what I remember) they should be there.

Really like this set, not a big LOTR fan, but this is really cool!

They should have added the sound brick for when Sauron talks to Frodo Baggins when he puts the one ring on.

Im gonna get bara dur, i got enough for it, im now starting to wonder when the witch king of angmar will be released, the one with the helmet from the video game.

Sauron in my opinion in extremely disappointing they should have used the avatar legs and i wish the helmet amd the shoulder armor were separate pieces.

If the Fellbeast came with an exclusive figure for the Witch King (with the helmet), I'd probably be more mad about it having a limited release. But since it looks almost exactly like the one from Attack on Weathertop, I'm not too heartbroken. That said, a Witch King minifigure would be awesome to get someday.

For the price there should of been all printed pieces, still such a GREAT looking set 🥳

Sauron as in SOURon

Is it me or is the eye build pretty damn close to the one in the LEGO Batman Movie, albeit at a smaller scale? Like the specific shaping is pretty close.

I love that they use brown at the top of the tower to give the illusion of the eye emitting light. That’s a really good use of color theory.

I think they should release the Fell Beast as a stand alone set later. Like give it as a promo for people who buy it the first week. Then make people pay for it by itself if they want it later.

Looks amazing, but I'm not interested in picking this up. I'm not that engrossed in the work of Tolkien to fork that much money on a set, especially when it's mostly dark colours.

Love these sets but hate how neglected general low income consumers are. As mini figure collector, it bugs me there's no cost effective way to buy them outside of second hand sales which aren't always reliable.
