Firstly, wanna say thanks for the effort and time you put into this video and congrats on pulling a full set right off the bat. That being said, has anyone stopped to think that maybe the intention of the blind boxes is so that you buy a few, get some duplicates, then meet up with friends and trade with each other to get the full collection??? Feels to me like the CMFs lose all their fun and become more of a chore when we have to weigh each one and look up codes to determine if it's the character we want. Just my 2 cents and to each their own.

These are good points and I totally agree that there is joy in opening something and not knowing what your getting. I have mixed feelings though. I would like everybody to have the opportunity to be able to get what they want without spending more than they want. Personally, I would like these to be packaged in clear plastic like a Hot Wheels car. This way you know what your getting and can still have fun searching store to store to get that figure you want. Imagine walking down the store aisle and seeing the Goliath that you REALLY want staring back at you. Thanks for your comment!

@@thegreenbrick That's an interesting take on packaging the CMFs like Hot Wheels. The way I look at it is that your standard Lego sets are like your regular Hot Wheels. You know exactly what you're gonna get in each box. But even Hot Wheels does blind boxes/bags. The fun is always in the mystery.

Which would be great if I knew people that also collected these and could trade... *sigh* And you really need several people to have the best chance, and even then you seem to still wind up with dupes. As a kid, I did trading cards and traded with my friends from school. I had a lot of classmates, but always managed to still wind up with dupes and missing ones I wanted. So in theory I would say it sounds good, but in practice it doesn't quite work 100%.

Lego could have put a hidden code on the box, something the fans have to work together on to figure out, this way those people who don't care could just get a random minifig and the others could get what they want... but they didn't (they even removed a code like that in the past). If this was about trading, they could easily do some type of mini event in the store to allow people who live in the same city to come together on a specific day to trade (similar to what they do with the e.g. Halloween events) and maybe pick up another set too. But they haven't done this either. Sadly it looks like it's all about money, about selling more of the boxes to people who were disappointed by what they got or kids who just want the new thing and then get upset that they got three Wolverines. For me, feeling the bags to get what I wanted was fun. Spending $5 on a minifig (which is awfully overpriced to begin with) and then getting something I don't like, isn't - that's just a lootbox (or better: gambling for kids) and I don't do that.

Didn't know you could weigh them, outstanding. I have a small 500g x 0.1g (it says 0.1, but it is .00 digit) scale I can take to Target or Wal*Mart and weight them right there in the store (I obviously have no shame). Also, I love to use small sticky notes for labeling things like that, even in the store. Another observation, these are boxes with glued flaps. It seems to be it would be pretty easy to take a thin knife, slice through the glue to open the box, see what it is, and then apply a little glue to close it again and return. I'm expecting to experience that with ones I see in stores after they have been out for a while.

Actually, after watching the entire video, wasn't each one of those a separate number? Did you verify that the numbers on the bottom can be the same for multiple figure types? Or are all figures under the same number going to be the same?
@thegreenbrick
@thegreenbrick Жыл бұрын
@@pacerdawn5512 So there’s not much consistency with the numbers, but here is what I conclude from the 5 digit code. If the code is the same, you AREN’T guaranteed the same figure (that’s when the weight is crucial and the 6 digit code may help distinguish a different figure). If the 5 digit code is different, you ARE guaranteed to have a different figure. Confusing huh? I had a few different figures with the same 5 digit code. Out of the dozens that were available to me at the store, I only found about 10 different codes.

@@thegreenbrick I want to know what is the code for Agatha. The video was too fast when it showed the box. I want to write it and maybe find it at Walmart and Target.
@thegreenbrick
@thegreenbrick 11 ай бұрын
@@josephnieves2447 I would love to, but the codes are different with each batch. My numbers will be different from yours. However, Agatha is the easiest to find when you have a scale as she is the heaviest at 21.9 grams. Yeah, unfortunately you need an accurate pocket scale to weigh these to get what you want.

Hello it looks like we used the same scale. My video shows the weights and codes of a full box of 36 packs. If some genius can come up with the solution that would be great. Sorry for riding on your fame.
