Context for the beginning scene: In the original story of Journey to the West, Tang Sanzang (Tangs ancestor) and the rest of the gang end up in a place called the "Woman Kingdom" which consists of only females..... they later explore a place within the kingdom called "The Mother-Child" river..... and without knowing what the name even meant.... Tang Sanzang and Zhu Baije (Pigsy's ancestor) drink from the river and load and behold....... They eventually come to the realization that the water within the river is magic and has the ability to bless whoever drinks it with a child..... so Tang Sanzang and Zhu Baije are pregnant and in order to reverse the effects of the "Birth water" the whole gang had to travel to another river in which the water there had the ability the defertilize or abort the child to whoever drank it and bassically they ended up aborting 😂

Context according to the journey to the west. In the first clip where tang was shocked by tje offering of water, this is because it is from the spring of "fertility". In the original JTTW pigsy ended up drinking the water, and lets say the results where not pretty.

Fun thing about the pond with pregnant women: when my sister read this part of Journey to the West, she said that there's a type of water parasite that grows inside your stomach. And when it grows big enough, it looks like you're pregnant. So, this part of the story probably happened in some village where the uneducated villagers actually thought that their water helps to become pregnant. Hence Tripitaka, a man, also got "pregnant". So, this part of the story is actually horrifying once you know what the author was talking about. :')
