WHAT A PRECIOUS EPISODE!! The calm before the storm we needed. MK and Wukong get a bit of training in, the HUGGG, the Pigsy and MK bonding time, UGH IT’S SO GOOD!! It’s so adorable that Pigsy remembers lil MK’s favourite recipes, or how he used to carry him in a backpack. Adorable stuff, I’m obsessed. Also good to finally have someone questioning what’s going on with MK, and their reactions let us know why it’s taken so long for that to happen. Wukong thinks MK is not ready to face such existential ideas, MK is unwilling to change his self image as the “noodle boy who got lucky”. He directly associates his new changes with a doomed, painful fate. So yeah, good stuff! Love the writing, enjoyed the slower pace, and the new animation holds up (I particularly enjoy the facial expressions).
