Purple and yellow were both wildly inconsistent around the time. And for some reason, it seems to be part-by-part, hence why all purple Slizer arms are slightly redder. Even stranger is that the purple and yellow Krana DO vary in shade despite sharing molds, and I have no idea why.

we still have this problem nowadays with pearl gold, where different batches are either very shiny & golden metallic or just shiny bright orange imo. they both are officially the same color & you never know what you get on bricklink, so i see people always getting weird batch orders. for me, it's actually kinda cool tho, that we have two different colors for the two different purple slizers. cause if i recall corectly, that's the only slizers that would otherwise even share their color scheme. so maybe it's even intentionally a different color? i just wished we would get a more accurate, full color list on bricklink, because how else could you know that certain pieces look so off? imagine trying to build a moc in this sought after, old color that's been a favorite among bionicle fans, just to see it doesn't work once your order arrives i wanna see some actual answers from lego's side on this tbh. it's baffling to me how the biggest toy company continues drops in color quality & consistency. esp now that so many real competitors joined the market. just look at the early lego creator fiat 500 batches, which has all the imaginable shades cool yellow could have

As a Lego Minecraft enjoyer, Dark Red (Nether) shows darn well that plastic colors are weird.

For the record, "Dark Purple" is Bricklink's term for that color; LEGO's internal name for it is "Medium Lilac". And according to Peeron, BL's "Purple" is TLG's.. "Bright Violet". Huh!

I'm going to be the annoying one here, i definitely have those purple arm pieces in the same purple as onepu's 'classic purple' 🥲I think you might have sun-damaged purple parts, as I also have a few slizer body halves that are both old classic purple and the reddish purple you described, one of them even being half-n-half
