Just a heads up, there is a different between sending hate and thoughtfully criticizing a video. In my opinion, the review those two guys gave was pretty terrible because it lacked evidence and examples, cherrypicked criticisms, and was based on information was often factually incorrect. And because of that we fans have a right to go to his channel and express our grievances and disassemble his many poor arguments. This is not the same thing as blindly hating. No one should go there and and attack these guys with insults. Criticize the review itself and hold it accountable for the lack of research and reasoning that went into it. If he uses terrible arguments we have a duty to give factually rebuttals. Because the fact is his video was created with a pretty vindictive motive. He explicitly said he wanted to tick off an entire fanbase and when that is your primary intention it will show in a video that was pretty antagonistic. But you guys need to be better than him. It's alright to be mad, he did this to deliberately make you angry but you can't stoop to a level of hate and insults. That leads to the Dark Side and I know a thing or two about the Dark Side. So go and express your opinions in a civilized manner. Don't mindlessly hate but don't just sit there and take it! Stand up for a show that you love and you know deserves better. The way you express your opinions and rebuttals in response are going to shape the way non-Ninjago fans view both the show and the Ninjago fanbase. Give them the best you have to offer because your character here will be the most important aspect of communicating. I'm sure you guys will be able to rise to the occasion! Move forward with only the best of intentions and I'm sure that the Force be with you! :-)

As a TMNT fan, sure they have similarities, but they're both different and equally awesome. And it's not really ripping off.

It feels like I they didn't really watch the show entirely because its so long and only watched a few episodes to get the surface level picture of what the show was.

I feel that the biggest problem with the video is that, the whole thing is basically Mark complaining about how much he doesn't care so much to the point what's the point of even making the video. That's it. Just stop might jump in and make a joke about "oh come markie, it can be THAT BAD" only to nitpick something that doesn't matter to the over show. The main argument of the whole show the made was "it's legos, therefore it's shit"

Let me take a crack at this, fresh off rewatching pretty much the entire show. Prepare your eyeholes for this wall of text. Point 1: To be honest, I'm thinking the differentiation between "Ice" and "Water" is actually a valid criticism. However, this being among the top of their critiques, much less the first thing they bring up, is pretty wild. You can go further in-depth with this, like how "element" here doesn't refer to the scientific term "element" with "water" being made up of two other "elements" (hydrogen and oxygen), but overall I don't think it's a point worth spending much time either criticizing or defending. It's an established rule in the show that's not really contradicted. Point 2: If Ninjago WAS a rip-off of TMNT even through the pilot episodes, it had outgrown that by the first season, and we're now 12 seasons strong. Besides which, the only thing I can see being questionable that they've mentioned is the sensei's brother being the main villain. However, once again I have to question the strength of these objections. When I'm bringing up my MAIN points to demonstrate why a show or movie is BAD, especially regarding the writing, that's going to look less like nitpicks about potential rip-offs that are enough of a stretch that you have to misrepresent the show and it's going to look more like major plot holes that undermine the entirety of the series, then working my way down to smaller plot contrivances and MAYBE getting into nitpicks after delving into my main critiques. Point 3: This is a demonstration of them having just not watched the show, at least not with the volume on. You've sufficiently provided the information that they've missed, so I don't have much more to say. And again, is this a main point of criticism? It seems like a rather minor one if it were valid. Point 4: This is a really meta point that doesn't have much to do with the product we have but rather the product we don't have. And sometimes that too can be a valid criticism. Yet they've answered their own question by bringing up the budgetary concerns and it appears that the rest of what they're looking for would amount to a series of self-aware, 4th wall-breaking jokes. In that case, I suggest you watch The LEGO Ninjago Movie if that's what you're looking for. Criticizing something for "what it isn't" is a far stronger point if you can illustrate the issue with "what it is." Point 5: Genre preferences are just that: preferences. If you don't like the genre... you don't have to watch the genre. Also, it has a LOT of comedy in it, so it's hard not to see "it takes itself too seriously" as anything but a mischaracterization. Point 6: LOOOOOOOOOOOL you ****ers, "what's up with this time skip" YOU SKIPPED 9 SEASONS,. Please at least read the Wiki summary of each season or just criticize what you have seen and what you do have context for. Also, I would agree with your statements that Season 11 is one of the lesser seasons and that Ninjago does a better job as a vehicle for selling toys than a "soulless cash grab." They may have further points that you didn't include in your response, although I seriously doubt that based on the quality of what is shown here. If this is all they've got... yikes. I'm a Ninjago fan and I can list more valid criticisms off the top of my head than these guys can shove in a video that's supposed to show how Ninjago is "dumb." Of course, don't flood them with hate. However, they absolutely deserve a counterpoint, so if you do respond, stay civil like Tanner does here. Sorry for typing way too much, but their "criticism" just astonished me.

I’m growing up with ninja turtles and Ninjago and many more shows but Ninjago doesn’t fell like TMNT.Take it from fans of both shows

Season 1 is not weak at all, in my opinion is one of the top 3, and season 11 is not that good but I really like the characters of aspheera, char, and akita

I also like to point out that they treat ninjago like that since its a lego property, it should follow lego movie physics. That is literally not the point of ninjago as a show. -_- Ninjago is an action/comedy cartoon with a lego style. Not every lego property has to be similar to the lego movie in terms of physics and humor. And ninjago is awesome show because of it. Again, i know this is their opinion, but i honestly think that they just made this because they wanted to talk shit about something. And they think their points stood because they only saw season 1 and 11, some of the weakest seasons in the show (in my opinion.). Their lack of research and knowledge of the show itself shows they dont really care about it and just wanted something to nit-pick at. Sorry if this turned into a mini rant, i just wanted to point this out..

Ninjago and Chima and things like that aren't supposed to be worlds made of lego, the characters are shaped like lego minifigures sure but they aren't made of bricks specifically, if they ripped off their legs they'd be permanently injured lol. The show only looks like the way it does because it's owned by lego, the show doesn't need to be lego focused, and is far better as it is in my opinion. It's not the lego movie and it clearly wasn't intended to be like that.

I am both a big fan of TMNT and Ninjago, and I honestly see no similarities other than the whole brother vs brother thing. Honestly the video that they made lacked real evidence on how the show "sucked" and there bias opinions got in the way of a real review. Not to mention the vid has 2.1K dislikes, but we dont mention that. Still, hope no one attacks this guy, other than de-bunking his "facts."

I grew up on teenage mutant ninja turtles AND ninjago but throughout all these years I've never even thought about the similarities? I'd say there are some but ninjago took a completely different road with the concept. Also Nya ain't just the "girl friend", like you said, if they watched the entire show they'd know she actually becomes part of the team.

I can understand why people who don't really watch the series fully thought Kai was leader. One he has a sword and he's red and is the main focus most of the times so people may see him as a leader type guy I used to think he was leader but learned it was Cold. Overall I feel like they didn't really watch the whole series and most of their arguments where poorly written.

I mostly agree with this video. The season 11 thing was mostly just a joke and attempt to see what the series was like recently in comparison to the first. The video wasn't supposed to be a big indepth look at the entire series, but I see that some points could be debunked now with all the comments I've gotten. Again, mostly did it for fun with review bits on top but I get the outrage though I find it somewhat excessive lol. Good vid.

I'm a big Ninjago and TMNT fan, and I've seen similarities in the two shows, but there's tons of differences. Just because you see a couple similarities doesn't mean the shows a rip off of another. I do see where they are coming from, but I also see where they don't understand this is a LEGO cartoon that was aimed for kids. This show is a very fun and interesting show, there's a lot of potential in this show.

I'm not going to watch the review. After seeing bits of this video I could tell that they didn't watch the show in its entirety. You can't say a show is dumb and have only watched two seasons worth, you have to see it all because opinions can change. I don't know if they just wanted to get a reaction out of the community, but I hope they reconsider and take the time to watch Ninjago...the weaker seasons included.

i used to watch tmnt when i was younger as well as ninjago, i can see some similarities ofc like the ones they pointed out in the video but i really dont think they are similar story wise, obviously. i prefer ninjago tho i think the characters are more in depth but tmnt is iconic. also i think they might have changed their opinion if they watched the in between seasons, season 6 being my favourite. i think season 11 is pretty difficult to watch, its certainly my least favourite season so its kinda weird that they jumped literally 10 seasons loool
