what is facinating about ninjago is how they manage to make these "ultimate" ninja versions over and over again without it becoming repetitive

See, it’s totally the “Dragonball” effect. Super Saiyan was the strongest possible…until Super Saiyan 2…and then 3…then God, then God Super Saiyan, etc. As long as the designs keep getting cooler, and the character keeps getting stronger, people will generally be ok with it

Agreed, I don’t care the slightest bit for the story, but the sets are usually great. Though I do wish they didn’t branch out into every possible theme. Ninjago has done Pirates (the air pirate season), sci-Fi (nindroids and the video game seasons), and Castle (the dungeon season). I wish we got those themes separately :/

The minifigures this season are absolutely ballistic. We are getting *3* variants of ever single Ninja in addition to amazing new villains and supporting character minifigs. I love it so much!

As much as I wish we got a Vangelis head for the Skull Sorcerer, I’m glad that it’s at least accurate, as his head is show to be black while he’s Crystalized.

Those golden dragon ninja Minifigures are going to kill on the aftermarket. Overall it's a good set with decent value, once again Jang shows why he's the best

This is probably the best set of this wave in the value department. Conceptually it is a bit similar to Jay's Storm Fighter, but the inclusion of three amazing and exclusive minifigs alone justify the price point.

Crap, I'm gonna buy this now aren't I? Thanks Jang! I'm not really sure if that's ironic or sincere or a weird mixture between the two, but I do know that this is so much better than I was expecting. Like, that transformation is so smooth and both modes are equally appealing to me. That's never happened with any official set as far as I remember. Kudos to the designer, really. I'm so amazed.

These are the kind of things that make me wish I was still willing and able to drop money on lego. I love keeping up with the product but I just don't have the funds. This set tho is fantastic, and that Cole minifig sincerely tempts me lol great review as usual Jang really appreciate your content

I'm not familiar with the Ninjago franchise so hadn't seen the jet or characters but when I saw the jet unfold the wings I thought instant awesome. The opened wings also kinda remind me of a Shuriken ninja throwing star.

it's f14 tomcat, obviously. Which brings me back to christmass around 25 years ago when I got plastic model kit of tomcat with folding wings. I was about 10 and my brother thought I would assemble it for a few days. I was done the same day and I loved it!

I got this one myself, it's decent. Definitely lacks some accessory storage and perhaps a couple spring loaded shooters but it's a nice build.

I've been waiting for you to do this one! I'm definitely picking up this set when it releases in my country. My only goal is to get all of the golden dragon ninja, and all of the vengestone generals. (And if course the main villain) That means I've got to get these sets. -Jays golden dragon motorbike -Zanes golden dragon jet -Coles golden dragon cruiser -Kais golden dragon raider -The crystal king -Nyas samurai x mech

Well the two arm crystal king is non-canon, so to truly get the main villain, you could get the dragon or temple.

Honestly was feeling lukewarm about this set (was probably going to get it anyway for the minifigs) but after your review I know I'm definitely getting it. Overall I am just in love with the minifigs for this season, I just wish some of the actual sets weren't so overpriced, but this one is definitely a good value by today's standards. Okay so since no one cares about the black ninja....Nya Chose Jay over him as well, it makes sense to have him look like something straight out of hell. I'm for it. The anger burns from within Oni form Garmadon is a great figure too, reminds me of the villain from Kerby.

I'm not a big fan of how this set looks. It's literally just a mix of the original and legacy version of Jay's Storm Fighter but with Zane's colors. Transformation is amazing but I don't like the look of it too, it just doesn't work for me. I know it's hard to make a unique design and also incorporate that kind of transformation feature at that size but I feel like the wing design could've been more different.
