Fun fact! This is also very similar to how those holographic optical illusion work. They have a highly detailed print of a scene interlaced with more frames of the same scene from different perspectives. Then, a film is placed over it with vertical lenses that show only 1 interlaced scene at a time. When you move it, it shows the next frame, and the next, etc like an animation!
