3:28 Imagine being the guy who proposed this section. "Yeah, I know we can detach the container and tip it to let the cargo out, but... hear me out... what if we _flipped the entire car over_ instead?" "What, so we have a crane or something to pick it up off the track and flip it?" "No, no... the track flips too, that's way easier."
@mcb1874 жыл бұрын
Look up a rotary car dumper.
@Ruiluth4 жыл бұрын
Actually it is way easier. Trying to get it back on the track after picking it up is much harder than holding the car down and flipping the whole thing.

Totally amazing. It's awesome that you have a system with three cars on the same track system, with every part of the process powered BY those cars. I do wish the fourth car were also part of the same track system (And identical in form to the other three cars), but that doesn't lessen anything I'm seeing here!
@bjornmolinyawe67295 жыл бұрын
Awesome build/creation indeed! The precision, mechanism and timing of this train system is well thought of. The generosity of sharing the instructions is the cherry on top of this model. Kuddos to you Akiyuky and more power!

Bringing it all together and amazing! You are definitely 'on track' with sharing your latest creations Akiyuki-san, please keep on going with sharing (with more balls).

It's hard to pick the best part: I like the custom tight curve, the colour-blocking, and the superb job with the presentation (all of the previous videos). Truly a work of engineering and art.
@legomasterbuilder91186 жыл бұрын
Wow that is insane!!! The layout is well thought, there is no crash, and all the cars follow a path that is pretty long, except ont cart😅 thats so awesome, you are very talented. Wonder if GBCs are ever gonna get better than this, because all of that works with just 4 motors and it’s so well designed. Incredible work!!!
@Krudum6 жыл бұрын
It is a wonderful and ingenious mechanical system. This layout is rather complex but it is nice that Akiyuki published a whole series of videos. Even if you build just the basic setup (that presented in the introductory video), you will still see and learn the main mechanical/control principles and enjoy the vow effect. And than you can decide whether you will go on with more advanced modules.
@Legominder6 жыл бұрын
Once again, the genius level of this is insane. Just want to point it out again for everyone who doesn't get it: There are only the driving motors inside the cars!

Wow, akiyuky! That was amazing! I really like this layout, and all of the automated functioning ore cars. It was like the most satisfying video in the world, but with LEGO Mindstorms. The part that I appreciate the most is the usage of the narrow gauge train tracks to make a tighter curve for the ore cars. That's just pure generous! Complements from cheeseinthepie. 4/2/2018

I think this has the potential to have the train go around the gbc layout and add ball counters along the way. Then add an nxt to the system to monitor where all the balls are and have the train deliver extra balls to places that have a low count.
@aFLICKINGCLINT5 жыл бұрын
This works so well cause it has no ai just simple (advanced) mechanical mechanisms
@blueberry1c24 жыл бұрын
I love how all the mechanisms are powered by the cars themselves. Gives me some ideas of how this could be applied to cargo ships, with the cranes on the dock powered directly from the ship, which has its engine running anyway.
