@@cassist000 Definitely worth checking out. It's still in beta, but the progress so far is really good. The level of detail is impressive, the developer even modeled the inside of the bricks that the buildings are made of.

i'd love to see lego expand on rock raiders more and make a sequel! it will probably never happen tho, its so niche. Not sure how popular rock raiders was really back in its day.

And all the noises and moans and groans the Raiders make. Everytime they slip and say: “Woah!” When a monster or dynamite is nearby: “wo-wo-wo-WAHHH” When hurt or hungry: “oooooh…”😂😂 and each phrase gets said like 500 times per level.

100%. I don't think I'll ever stop quoting nonsense from games. I still ask "Prostagma?" from Age of Mythology all the time.

With all the time routing and grinding the run it took much longer than 40 minutes.

On a first playthrough, you could easily spend 2+ hours on a single maps. Such an immersive game to play as a kid! :D

Thank you. I have played a bit of Manic Miners and was very impressed with the game. I did some individual level runs on the .3 version and the longest map was Rock Hard at 3:56. I was playing without sandwiches or fatigue though. I am not sure if I will do any videos once the game is complete.

This game wont be at AGDQ because it crashed 9/10 on the last 2 levels. Also sometimes when you dig walls the energy crystals wont spawn. RNG and the AI play a big part in your downfall too especially when combat is involved.

Well maybe someone will make a more stable version and then it will be there

I think I turned the music off because I was afraid of copyright strikes. While making this I found out the PS1 version has even more songs which was cool. If the air supply reached 0% you would lose the mission. The air can be refilled by the support station.

@@TumoilTheCoil I've played this game through and through, all missions... but this run takes the cake on NOT needing a support station in some of these maps, which is hilarious. Considering there's a modding forum out there for this game, and the fact that it has never been updated because of its' perfection, I highly doubt there's going to be a copystrike on this video for the music. Plus it's been 10+ years, copyrights run out unless the company renews them, then it's basically free domain/abandonware. I also like the fact that you highlight some of the various dialogues that you hover over when there's not much going on, subtle, but noticeable. On another note, I'm surprised you didn't do "Don't Panic!" I guess it was longer than "The Gauntlet."

Your joke went over my head the first time. When it comes to music I prefer to keep it safe. I remember some of the maps could have been faster but only the left option unlocks the next level.

Hammers are used to reinforce walls to prevent landslides and also stops monsters from coming. Spanners fix buildings, drills mine walls, and shovels clear rubble. The purple crystals are drained energy crystals (Drained from a Slimy Slug or from a mining laser) and need to be recharged from a recharge seam which are not on every level. The grey count towards your total count but are currently in use powering a building. General tips: Train your raiders are early as you can to carry more tools, explosive experts drivers, geologists and so on. If a Slimy Slug is sucking one of your buildings turn it off. You can place an electric fence around your base which will instantly kill the rock/lava/ice monsters if they come in contact. Power paths can be placed next to erosion to slow it down. If your raiders are low on health you can teleport them up and bring them back and teleport them back down at full HP. The lower their health the faster they tire out when carrying things. The small digger and transport truck are great. Raiders in vehicles don't tire and are not afraid of bats/monsters. Every support station creates air and also lets you make more raiders at once. You can have multiple support stations. You can rename your raiders (I don't remember how but I think you pressed space or enter while having one selected)

Sorry for the late reply. On Water Works you only need the crystal requirement to finish the level which I assume is an oversight. This has been fixed in the fan remake "Manic Miners". On Rocky Horror there was no guaranty they would actually build it because of the stupid bats. I'm just happy that the game didn't crash.

Only the left missions unlock the next level for whatever reason.

There were 4 maps which could cause problems. Ice Spy (17:33) The Raiders would get stuck in a loop of running between two Ice Monsters missing the shots because the laser beam range was too short. I think commanding them to get close before the loop solved the problem but I don't remember. Back To Basics (29:54) The Rock Monster spawn location was random and I got the worst one. Frozen Frenzy (9:08) Sometimes the Raiders would get hit with a landslide combo from three sides killing everyone. Water Works (14:55) Sometimes if you mined too fast the energy crystals would not spawn. The game would crash frequently on many maps which was the biggest problem running this game. (Mostly while spawning the first vehicle of a map) The remake in progress "Manic Miners" has a lot of potential for running.

There were not any major usefful glitches that could be used. One I found would let you smuggle pre-trained raiders into your "new game" but that was not used as it is not in the spirit of the run.
