i think it might be the same/tuxedo cat may have a small head maybe but i would say overall same proportionss,great if u are thinking of buying young simba to display both of them

He seemed a lot more enthusiastic about the tuxie. Both models look good, and I'd display Simba, even if I wasn't an enthusiastic fan of the movie. It's just a good cat model, if nothing else.

I have to say, if I wanted to buy a model simba I'd much rather buy a small version that i can display on my desk rather than a version that needs a dedicated shelf. Don't get me wrong, it looks amazing and the techniques seem cool, but I can't see myself displaying the entire thing. That being said, I'm not much of a lion king fan. Maybe a fan of the animated movie would clear a shelf like I did for the saturn V and space shuttle.

I'm sure the adult lego is more fun to build but honestly the kids simba looks better to me, the adult one has too many exposed studs and is kinda uncanny valley with some of the details

Once again, you are changing my mind about a set. I thought the big Simba would not be so interesting. But now it seens to be. Although, the fact you can just display it in one way (except for the head) still makes me doubting about buying it. At the other side: you can change cat not very much more and I wanted that set more. But now you make me doubting. Choices have to be made.

While it's not Lego, there is a 3D Crystal Puzzle of Marie that was released alongside other Disney 100 sets. One of the few times I've seen merchandise for Aristocats out there.

I would prefer timon and pumba as the ucs set. They are far more recognizable then the young simba in my opinion

Looking at the head connection, it seems like they could have used a longer rod to support the joint.

I wouldn't mind a LEGO Buzz Lightyear or Nemo. Even Monster's Inc. I might check out the big Simba model, as Lion King was my childhood.

The big Simba statue is much more "lifelike" and smooth in the build in comparison to the cat and Stitch.

Agreed. It almost seems like a sculpture that they'd display at a Lego Store or theme park, although pretty small by that scale.

i build the big one, and i must say i'm kind of disappointing , a lot of special pieces, strange building techniques, they could have improved playability, rotating eyes, moving paw, more head rotation, moving jaw, ---- a lot of brick colors for the inner body, I would have preferred, one color for the inner body and one or two color for the other shell of the body . on the positive side the numbered bags are a great way to make the build easy, finished it look quite nice

I like the same concept at different price points release. I know online its mostly adults but i think alot of us forget that lego is a toy not just a collectible. Kids are going to love playing with the little one and adults will love putting the big one on a display shelf. Its win win.

Darn the head of the big one just falls off whenever you look at it. Mine broke into pieces and had to be reassembled🤣

Forgot to comment this earlier but that bush piece in brown, used as the tip of Simba's tail here, first showed up in that color in the Rocket Raccoon mech set.

I would’ve thought the right choice for the bigger set wouldn’t have been to have done simply a bigger young Simba, but an Adult Simba? Or Even a Mufasa? That would’ve encouraged adult collectors to get both sets?

Thank you for the review Tiago! I will most likely get the 18+ Simba. I’m an adult now and I really like the accuracy of it. The tiny one for kids doesn’t look as accurate to the big one

Pretty great set, especially building experience and npu The head falling off easily is a big problem Maybe adult Simba would have been better

The big issue on the adult set, I have is that tail sticks out so far backwards without any movement and cannot sit on a shelf without wasting a lot of space behind it, or to to the side if you choose to display it that way, which looks not as good. . It would be better if the tail wrapped along the ground forward for a relaxed sitting pose and would thus be more compact. It looks nice, though.

I'm sure many of us 40 year-olds will love to build and display this set! Iconic movie from our childhood and still holds up for our kids today!

As someone who is 18+, articulation is still pretty important. I like the smaller one better I think.

It depends on the set for me. I couldn't imagine the legs moving from a sitting pose, but there could have been more poseability in the head, mouth, and eyes. To me, Mighty Bowser is still the gold standard, in that regard.

i have the big one! and i love it!! although i dont think you have to be an adult to build it. I built it and i am 11 almost 12 year old

He rarely does that kind of video. The only one I recall was when the Medieval Village set was revealed, and that was only because he attended the panel where it was first shown off.

I mean, yeah it's a great set, but how many people want to spend their money because they specifically want a Simba on their shelf? I like the Lion King, but I can't honestly say at any time in the last 30 years I've ever thought "boy, I'd really love a Lego set where I can build a character from it, at an age they were only at for a few minutes in the movie." Maybe it's just me but I've always felt weird building organic things out of Lego; I'd rather build things than living creatures out of them.

i really do not like the 18+ set being so limited with posses and the neck being so thin, he look like one of those cartoon jokes where someone grab them by the neck and squeses really hard
