Does it come with an incompetent daddy's boy minifig?

I think it’s kinda cool that we have 2 F1 cars from the same season but in different colours, we can finally have 2 cars race each other

These look great but I really really want an 8 unit wide Porsche 911...

BTW the FIA Safety Car figure is actually quite accurate to the actual F1 driver and his suit, Bernd Maylander, even got the glasses. The F1 driver just as in the McLaren set is basic and generic with little accuracy to the real suit that we had in the Mercedes F1 set recently. Sad to see but overall, the set is good, the front shaping of the grille on the Vantage is much better. I think expecting all the teams in unrealistic but at least two justifies printed tyres production.

Colors aside I really do like the variety in this wave, a concept car, race cars, and street rides, what else can we ask for? And they do all have very diverse buidling techniques compared to each other, there is no fun in building the fifth car with the same core and different hood mounting, but here, we got it all :)

Honestly, LEGO needs to start making new vehicles such as Porsche, Honda, Toyota, and many more.

Check out some pictures of the AMR23 while it's in the Box/Garage. The artificial light gives the car a color much closer to the green Lego chose.

I love the formula one cars being almost identical, this could let us build a race, where cars are similar, just diff brands. It would make a very nice piece of the city :) I hope they will continue making formula ones, this wave is the best in few years!

Im not surprised that both 2024 Speed Champions F1 cars look the same. At this scale its going to be impossible to capture details like the variances in wing, side pod and floor in any meanginful way. At least the liveries make both cars stand out against each other.

Vantages look different, because the first one is Vantage GT3, which is racing special, road illegal car. Safety car uses regular Vantage.

As a Chadlonso fan, I was very excited for these...though I probably wont be picking them up. That shade of green just doesn't look good in person. Honestly, I feel like a Red Bull or Ferrari might have been a better choice - could also bundle it in with an RB liveried car from another racing series or a classic road Ferrari.

I think Lego should Make a Whole new Theme of sets which only contains f1 cars and other f1 products this would be very nice for F1 fans and super car fans can get there own sets in the Speed champions theme

That shade of green would be better for something like the 2024 Sauber

I just finished building these an hour ago. To me the green in real life doesn`t look as bad as the box and youtube videos make them look. Awesome building experience as usual, although the f1 car really is lots of 76919 deja vu as you mention

I will never, and I mean NEVER, understand why some people get so genuinely mad when Lego makes the structure of their models, as in the parts of the build that will never be seen again, multicolored. Like you can’t convince me that there aren’t Lego fans out there that just want to be mad for the sake of it.

Definitely wish the color was more accurate, but for some reason it really doesn’t bother me that much. My only guess is the set would’ve required too many part recolors to fit the budget. Would’ve been nice for sure, but I get it and the alternative really doesn’t bug me

The building on the box I think is meant to be Silverstone without being Silverstone and paying for its use. As to the Green, BRG is a real deep dark green. I agree the teal would have looked better for these but I’ll still buy them anyway as I’m collecting all the speed champions 8 wide

So many questions with this set. Still love them and will definitely get them, but yeah... LEGO decision-making is an enigma.

This set is an easy skip for me, not because I don't like the cars, they both look great and I don't even mind the colours. It's because both cars are too similar to what we've had in the past or very recently, like you said. Sure the Vantage Safety Car has differences and is further refined from the version from 2 years ago, but it's still outwardly very similar looking.

I wish they release a matra murena 2.2.... this car is just awesome :)

This green is the most similar to the Saudi Arabian green they used on the Aston Martin safety and medical cars back at 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, so maybe that's why they agreed to it.

We had Mercedes F1 car few years ago. That one had two stickers to build a Hamilton's or Bottas's cars. These two (McL and AM) are "generic" - no indication they belong to Norris/Piastri and Alonso/Stroll. I wonder why, especially that both Norris and Piastri appeared in a commercial video few weeks ago.

This feels like an immediate pass, as both cars have already similar releases. While the F1 car is a nice addition to the minimal F1 racing car collection the Vantage wins out by easily being a street car minus the stickers and light bar. Color is a good choice for it in that respect too.

I just got this kit to build with the grandkids. Looks like fun, but I know who’s going to put the sticks on the cars.😁

I hope that next year's lineup, we either get Red Bull's RB19 or, preferably, the RB20

I'm still amazed that we're using the exact same steering wheel piece Lego has used since the beginning. And it still looks right!

While this set does share cars from other pre existing sets, I still think it’s the best set from this wave. Was not impressed by the Lamborghini gran turismo, concept cars don’t really belong in speed champions, especially ones that don’t even run or drive. The SL 65 and g63 could have been great if they’d either used a different windshield or designed a new one for the sl65. G63 was decent but is another car that doesn’t really fit in speed champions

I love these cars I think they look cool. For some reason because I k own they're making a big Ferrari car with the open upwards doors but I kind of want that on a speed champions set

I wish they used this 2 pack slot to do new different cars instead of 2 types of cars we’ve gotten before, with one being the F1 model we just got a few months ago.

A suggestion to apply decals easier, use a guitar pick. It's easier to apply them straight and minimal time touching fingers.

I'm just confused, like, who is this for? Normally they'll have 1 cool car and then a throw in, like for example with Mclaren, the F1 LM was the hook for enthusiasts. But whats the main car here? I don't know, and I dont think either of them are,

I think the reason Mercedes isn’t doing it is cause they had that giant technic and the small one plus they did speed champions a couple seasons ago. My best guess Ferrari doesn’t want to do it yet even tho they have a partnership with Lego so perhaps next season? Maybe a giant model sf-24. Red Bull doesn’t do Lego but are partner with the block zone I guess to be different. Surprised racing brick hasn’t reviewed it

As an Aston Martin fan and Aston Martin F1 fan i am as others disappointed about the colour. Lego could use turquoise or something more similiar to the British Racing green Aston martin is using. Also why not Fernando Alonso as an minifigurine for the f1 car ?! I understand the safety car driver is from real life the present driver but that blonde girl could be Fernando Alonso fr lego? I am intresting if lego will release other f1 sets next year not excepting for Red Bull because its an energy drink and lego doesn't sponsor energy drinks cigarettes like in the Icons set with Senna, R.I.P. they didn't put the Marlboro logo on it. So maybe they will do Ferrari or Williams because if you are a lego fan you know lego has made f1 Ferraris and a set with Williams....

See, im fine with the color as I want this set and I don't have much of this color in my small collection and it will look good on display. I think even for a closer color they should have made it medium azure as it closer

It might have been better if Lego released the Red Mercedes Benz Safety and Medical car as the models would have been different enough and the colour would have been much easier for them.

It's only the beginning to release the entire F1 line up. Already got the green with Mercedes team.

I believe it is silverstone, but i presume because the wing is a copyrighted building that hosts events, they've done their own version of it just to avoid costs being even more than they are.

The irony of a Aston Martin Speed Champion set that is basically a copies of previous model. Maybe they should do a pink Mercedes W12 Lego model next.

The green is a match for the Saudi Arabian flag colour 🇸🇦 “Aramco” is a sponsor on the cars (as per stickers) which is Saudi Aramco, their national oil company. So I reckon that’s a subtle but plausible reason for the set colour choice.

7:20 They might have chosen Aston Martin because they wanted to make a F1 safety car. The other safety car is a Mercedes AMG GT, but they already did a Mercedes F1 car, and therefore they chose Aston Martin. They couldn't make the AMG GT safety car, so they made a civilian version instead

Only thing that bothered me between the Aston and the Mclaren, was the different rear wings. It looked so different from one another when in real life they are not very different, just slightly.

I would like a RB or Ferrari F1 also, but it's probably no coincidence both the McLaren and the Aston are mercedes powered...

Honnestly with how many parts they have to reclour anyways, id say teal would have been a closer match to the real car, and maybe they could have just released it as a single f1 car, or with the dbx medical car. Also a Ferrari f1 with a 60s/90s f1 car would be a really nice combo to have gotten

I have the same complaint for this set as the McLaren - where's the car/driver number? That was a really nice part about the Mercedes W12 model a couple of years back, where you could easily swap between Hamilton and Bottas. It has been absent for all the F1 sets since. Especially for a set like this where I guarantee there are far more Alonso fans rather than Aston Martin fans
