It is a really nice looking set but again we have this ambiguity over is it a UCS or isn't it. It doesn't say it on the box but some fans say it is because it has the special plaque. It's like Creator Expert. When Lego said they were retiring the theme last year I was disappointed because it's my favourite theme. But then when the Crocodile Locomotive came out it was apparently a Creator Expert on the website. So the theme isn't retired then? Putting it on the box makes it official and there are no arguments over the definitive list

I am building the internal frame with the third leg. It will not auto slide down no matter what angle I tilt. Is that right?

Did you get it right? How long did it take to build the set? I was thinking about buying it and just doing one bag per weekend. Any idea how long it takes just doing one bag at a time?. I'm thinking about 30 minutes a bag or so. Idk

A lot of MBTA events happened in August 2020: The new Red Line train has begun testing, MBTA takes delivery of two more Orange Line cars, 1058 is being prepped at Rochester to be sent to Erie, 763 now back in service, 761 has returned for testing, 758 has returned for testing and 1137 is the next unit to be rebuilt after 1136.

In 2014, CRRC MA was awarded a $566 million contract from the MBTA to design and manufacture 152 Orange Line cars and 132 Red line cars. In January 2017, the MBTA awarded CRRC MA a new $277 million contract to build an additional 120 Red line cars bringing the total to 404 rail car vehicles to be delivered to the MBTA. The first Orange Line cars wouldn’t be delivered until early 2019 and Red line carriages would start by the end of the year.

It’s part of an Orange Line makeover. The four train cars were shipped from China, where they were built for a pilot project here in Boston.

A lot of MBTA events happened in June 2021: MBTA took delivery of two more Orange Line cars, Hyundai Rotem announced that the first two car body’s for the 80 coaches were inspected and approved for final assembly, the MBTA announced that 1422/1423, 1424/1425 & 1430/1431 will make up the next Orange Line train set, MP36PH-3C’s 010 & 011 finally headed to Erie, 1060 & 1065 are released, 1066 is set to be released from Erie now, 536 (which is in the SCR wrap) has entered service, the MBTA awarded the contract for Accessibility Improvements to be made at the South Attleboro and Winchester Center Commuter Rail Stations and MBTA completed the repairs to the Porter Square Retaining Wall.

Two years ago, some of the MBTA’s Green Line trolleys were packed up on the beds of tractor-trailers and shipped out-of-state to undergo an extensive interior and exterior makeover. Now, the first of those vehicles is coming home to be tested before it eventually hits the tracks, offering riders an upgraded commuting experience. On Tuesday, Alstom Transportation, the Hornell, New York-based company that won a $104 million contract with the MBTA in 2012 to conduct a “complete systems overhaul” of 86 of the transit agency’s Type 7 trolleys, announced that they completed the first of the fixes and sent the vehicle back to Massachusetts. According to T spokesman Joe Pesaturo, once the “pilot car” arrives on Wednesday, it will be subjected to two months of performance testing to make sure the trolley meets the transportation company’s satisfaction. Then, it will go into passenger service sometime between late January or early February of 2015.

A lot of MBTA events happened in April 2019: MBTA approved contracts to build a new Commuter Rail Station in Chelsea and for the overhaul of 27 additional F40 locomotives by Motive Power, Inc. (MPI) at a cost of $78.3 million, 3704 has returned and in testing now, the final rebuilt Type 7, 3707, has arrived home to Riverside, 1050 has arrived home for testing, 769 quietly went to NY per NETransit, 709 has returned and in testing now and 100 rebuilt type 7’s are in service.

The remaining 146 Orange Line cars will be assembled in Springfield. But it will be a while before we’ll see them on the tracks near Boston. New trains will start to go into service on the Orange Line in 2019 and the Red line in 2020, MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said in an email.

The first MBTA Green Line refurbished trolley car was returned to service this week. T personnel are completing test runs on the next refurbished car to return to service in the coming days. These are the first of 86 that are being refurbished. All 86 trolley cars will be delivered by the end of next year. “This is a great first step in our ongoing efforts to improve service on the country’s oldest light rail line,” says Interim MBTA GM Frank DePaola. The $104 million MBTA Green Line trolley car rehabilitation project work is being performed by Alstom from upstate New York.

China Railroad Rolling Stock Corp. - the Chinese government-owned rail firm that won the $566 million contract bid in 2014 to make new MBTA Orange and Red line trains - built a factory in Springfield to do the work.
