40$ for this feels brutal. I'd hate to be a kid growing up and into lego star wars, aside from some relatively affordable battlepacks, seems like every playset is 40$ or higher

I think what is included is alright, but it such a baffling decision to not include the third guard or Gideon’s cape. I really can’t see a possible counter-argument to either.

Lego is just being cheep, that’s their counter argument. They know we’ll buy this set either way so they may as well save some money by not including a fabric piece or another figure and still charging a lot

Lego doesn't seem to like including capes with jetpacks... All the Mando figures haven't included a cape since he got a jetpack, even though he wears both together in the show

The way i see it, you can get this for 40 and one battle pack for 20. Thats a nice looking imperial fasade, extra terrain. 5 bad guys and 3 good guys. 60 for both is a really good deal

$40 is a lot to spend on what’s especially just a wall and a door, so if i get this set I’m definitely going to expand it into a larger scene. It’ll technically cost me more money but it’ll make the purchase feel more justified if I can make it into something that feels worth displaying. I’ll definitely also give Gideon his cape and a Darksaber if I can get my hands on that piece.

For this much, especially in canada, I'd want the chamber behind the door where the other mandos were hiding. Or else, for smth more playable, a hanger with one of the TIE Interceptors.

I built this set yesterday and I’m honestly really happy with it. I agree with all your points as well on this, since I was actually quite surprised to see how small the model turned out. As for Gideon, I already had purchased a second Moff Gideon cape piece for mine when the sets were revealed and I think it looks great! Obvious it can put stress on the pieces over time, but here’s my question: why couldn’t they just make a two sided version of the new 1 hole style capes? It would eliminate any stress on parts and would give us the proper detail

I kinda want it for the structure. The door & the little rocky parts seem like a decent start for an imperial base. Price would be too high for just this structure, though, if only Mando s3 was better...

I love how well this set works with the battlepack released alongside it! That being said, I 100% agree with your take on the price... $40 is pretty steep imo and the lack of the third Praetorian Guard is a huge missed opportunity (especially since, unlike the ones we see in The Last Jedi where there are 4 different designs, all three of the Imperial ones we see in Mando S3 look identical save for the weapon). If we DID get that third guard, as well as Gideon's cape, I think the $40 price would be far more reasonable.

Lego so often hits on those two fronts. Too expensive AND incomplete. I can only take one of those at a time and feel ok with my purchase.

In my opinion, the mandalorians vs stormtrooper commandos battle pack has the same or more value as a toy, to play battle with, than this set, and for half the cost.

Base and minifigures are good. No cape for Gideon or third guard is a big miss, I agree. I guess Paz doesn't have a face because we never saw it in the show.

Then they put the third Praetorian in the advent calendar, lol. I agree, they should have included the third one in this set, plus the cape, to justify the price. When it gets to 20% off that will feel about right for this set and what you get in return for your money.

Good set, good figs, 40$ though, definitely going to wait for a sale. The clone battle pack is 7$ off at target. Sales and patience are the best way to go in my oppinion.

I didn't finish Mando 3, but this looks great. As a kid I always had things take place on bases rather than ship battles in space, but there were hardly ever any base sets to use as a backdrop so it just ended up being brightly colored 2x4 bricks arranged in a box shape. This would've been perfect and I'm jealous of today's kids, even if this is a little overpriced. The figs make up for it.

I see 4 mini figs and my brain says battle pack €20, but that build is Really lovely so 25, 3 new prints so €30? and inflation is what is, so 35? Hearing 40 is crazy town to me. it sounds like a choice not to sell toys to children. it sound like a choice to rinse dependable collectors which is one thing when you stick a rare fig in a generic set not related to them but when something that looks 25 is 40. No. I have to make the choice to put my money better places than Lego Star Wars.

I agree that it does feel like something is missing for its price point, but I'm not sure what. I personally don't think it's figures as much as it is the build that could've used a bit more: maybe a bit more floor, or expanding just a bit on that back corner area. I do like that it's meant to pair with other sets; I've always liked that in toys, enjoyed it especially in transformers. I've jokingly been calling this set the "imperial door battle pack."

It would be cool if Paz Vizsla came with a face, that way Lego could make up for the horribly innacurate Jon Favreau head piece from the Stark Jet (76130)

I just got this set it’s very nice and good I love the mini figures it’s shows what happen in the show but I have only 1 problem it’s price 40 dollars is a bit I would like at least maybe 25 28 bucks would be nice for it but I do recommend it if you have 40 dollars

Third guard should be included here, maybe even one commando trooper too for that price. And cape too. This set feels way too pricey, it could be 5 or 10$ less, since build is just generic rock, it's not that big, and figure selection feels incomplete. But build itself for what it is is really good. So there is that. I absolutely hate that Lego hid third guard in advent calendar. Releasing it in magazine would be barely passable, but this is just outrageous really.

The advent calendar inclusion doesn't make this set any cheaper or help people who want this set with the three guards appropriate to the scene. "You can finish the last 10% of this set this by spending another $40... plus another $5 on top of that... for another set you might not want" is not a feature. Similarly the cape coming in a $160 set 3 years ago does not excuse the lack of one in this set.

The build’s kinda cool but the minifigs are such a miss. Only Paz is done to good effect (and we already got him before), every other figure desperately needs cloth pieces. The waist capes are a huge part of the Praetorian on screen look, same for Moff. And the scene was pretty bad and meaningless too. Pretty inexplicable of LEGO to continue to jip only the LEGO Star Wars theme of integral cloth pieces

Anyone not familiar with how Lego does things. If you REALL want that 3rd praetorian. Get the advent calendar for Lego Star wars this year. You get your ugly sweater named characters. But also a 501st P2 trooper, a Battle droid and the 3rd Praetorian with a unique buildable weapon.
