I recently just reorganized my LEGO collection, and I found it a bit difficult to catalyze everything. Some parts are more closely related to others, but others have overlapping similarities, and I was trying to figure out the “family tree”.

Always like seeing people¨s Lego in the form of room tours. It´s helpful if someone tried to make their own Lego displays and building areas, see what furniture or storage systems work the best.

oh this is lovely! such a treasure trove you have down there. i keep forgetting that all those builds are huge, both the island and the minecraft world. just wow truly enormous things. the idea of them even existing brings me a lot of joy. also goddamn player base?? stronghold?? i was already going to see the minecraft world through till the end but now even more so. you have so much work ahead of you, and even though a lot of us enjoy it I hope you enjoy it too and don’t get burnt out on this huge project.

Sometimes I’ve been able to get sharpie off of LEGO by drawing on top of the sharpie spots with a dry erase marker and wiping away with a tissue. Rinse and repeat until clean! Can take some time, but it can work even a year or two after the sharpie marks were made!

Very fun studio tour, I've been looking forward to this video. I myself think that it is a worthy investment to keep all of your Harry Potter minifigures behind a glass case, because dust is definitely a very annoying part when it comes to Lego collecting. For the past couple months or so I have been trying to clean and sort every single piece, minifigure and set that I have to the best of my abilities and well let's just say there is still a lot of cleaning left😆

Hey cheesy, I have a question. I have a decently large lego collection (nowhere near yours though), and I prefer to lay out my storage in a way that I can sit on a rolling chair and access everything without constantly getting up and opening drawers. When you freebuild, do you ever get annoyed having to get up and access everything? Also what is the name of the black storage cases you have on the table at the start of the video.
@CheeseyStudios8 ай бұрын
I used to have a collection small enough to do that, and yeah, it was nice. Now, I usually grab all the containers of the pieces I need and set them up around me on my build table so I can access them easily. Still works out pretty well! I mention the brand at the end of the video - can't remember off the top of my head
@Aaron-M00J8 ай бұрын
I personally like Tiago’s sorting system. There are some good Homestock dressers from Home Depot for less than $100 each. Not super high quality, but for LEGO it is perfect and worth it. It is a hassle to assemble though. Lots of room per drawer.
@chocolate_maned_wolf8 ай бұрын
my collection is about 80-90K pieces about 25% of which are under 4x4x4 in size. Is this comparable to what you mean when you reference your "small collection"? I am just curious @@CheeseyStudios

Its kind of heresy but if you ever want to get that sharpie off of that banner a good way to do it is to very gently scrape an xacto blade against it

Honestly, I might give that a go xD
@garionbishop8 ай бұрын
@CheeseyStudios might as well, if you do I'd almost recommend using the back of the blade instead of the actual knife part, it's a common technique used in the warhammer community to get rid of mould lines. You're really just trying to remove as little material as possible
