LEGO Technic War Trike -- Mad Max contest [TC17] -- MOC

This trike is rigged out to hunt wasteland convoys and war rigs!
In the Mad Max world where resources are scarce hunting down other survivors is a great way to get by😈.
This trike was modified to force others to stop in every possible way.
Harpoon, grenades, road spikes, mines, missiles, catapult... you name it, and it's on this thing!

Hey buddy! I've just subscribed and you are now among my top 3 LEGO Technic builders on KZfaq 😁 I wanted to ask: 1. Do you have any engineering background? Or your experience came just from passion of building such cool LEGO MOCs? 2. Do you always just start building it out of your head, and then correct/improve it through mistakes you made? Or are you first planning it? On the paper? In some application? How do you approach each project from the beginning?

Hey! Thank you and welcome! I don't have an engineering background, I used to be a soldier and now I'm a fireman👨‍🚒 . I don't plan out stuff in the computer before I build it. I start with a rough idea in my head and constantly improve/correct it until I'm happy with it. With a vehicle I usually start with a workable driving platform, and then build it up from there. Things like my rollercoasters are build in segments. I build a segment and make sure it works reliably, then build the next and the next. And at some point I start running out of parts so I'll close the loop and then make everything pretty.

@@onnoschippers Big thanks for taking your time to reply. I really appreciate it. I really like your approach and I think it is also kind of my style of building something out of LEGO - and creating things in general 😉 I also like the idea of building your LEGO MOCs using just 2 colours (I saw the explanation "why" in your other video).

No problem, I never mind talking about lego😁 Well, actually it's 4 colors. Black, yelow, dark grey and light gray. But if you want an aditionnal color you would just have to change out the yelow for red because the other 3 are neutral colors. I've thought of doing this but the black&yelow theme is sort of a trademark now so I don't want to change it up.😅

@@onnoschippers I've got one more question: How did you start collecting all those LEGO pieces? Was it like - one day you said: I want to be more serious with my constructions so I am going to spend USD/EUR 500 and get some bigger number of pieces at once. Then I will buy all others necessary when time comes. I mean, to build even the simplest of your constructions you need to have quite significant number of pieces - and that's only in 2-3 colours - so I guess you had some methodology initially? Also where do you get your pieces?

That's to insane of a project, it would take months and the parts alone would go well over 1000 euro making it so not enough people can build it to make it worth the time.

I want to build something that can help me at home,but I don't have any ideas . I have :2 battery boxes 1M motor 2 L motors 1 rc receiver 1 rc controller 2 XL motors 1 light 1 servo motor 1 switch and the mindstorm ev3 set. Does anyone have any ideas about what i can build?

Well, I used to have some lego and then I sold it and regretted it. So I bought 3 black&yellow flagship sets used, and when it was available a BWE used(42055) and then I won one of those and later a zeux. The rest has beeb bricklink purchases when I needed something and the I'd brouse those BL stires for cheap parts I liked and saw a potential use for in the future. Right now my collection is about 1500-2000€ worth of lego. And besides new parts comming out I have no need for more😁👍

@@onnoschippers thanks for the answer! I started with Mindstorms EV3 for myself to build some robots and get my sons pulled into LEGO "engineering". Initially we had TONS of classic LEGO bricks (we were lucky ang got 6kg!! of LEGO bricks for free). But... I quickly realised managing LEGO bricks is a nightmare and my sons are really much more into Technic, especially since they got their first Technic models (from family) which were that orange Corvette and red First Fire Responder - both really cool. They also love your creations as we watch them together and that's why I have decided to go some specific direction. The idea is to build out of those 6kg bricks as much as I can and sell it later, and for those money buy new LEGO Technic beams and pieces. I wanted to go for black and orange since we have them a lot from Corvette but then I realised orange pieces cost 2-4 times more than black or yellow ones. So now the decision is to be made: - black and red Or - black and yellow 😁

@BrickBuilder They sold figures like that to be used with technic builds look up lego technic 8712 or Lego technic action figure seems like you think things from the past are fake you should look up what you are going to say instead of lying about things that you don't understand I have 3 and they say Lego on them, so I know what they are
