How are the vehicles moving around? Some magnetic mechanism under the floor?
@iPelaaja1
@iPelaaja1 6 жыл бұрын
Induction based. Coil of wire running under the road with AC voltage flowing in it, creates a magnetic field picked up by Hall effect sensors in the cars.

strange that it's all outdoors, i wonder how they keep them from yellowing up from the UV...but then again Denmark isn't exactly known from it's sunny beach weather.

You can see that the older models have yellowed. They seem to rebuild them over the time.

kremlingrasso Yeah, I’ve been there a couple of times, and in person you can definitely notice some wear and tear at various parts of the models. That’s not a major issue though, since it is still quite amazing to see all of those huge models in action / being displayed.

LEGO or not, it's amazing for the automation and that it is out in the weather. Maintenance/repair must be non-stop.

The castle at the end you couldn't identify is Rosenborg Palace. One of the many palaces within Copenhagen. But yeah I love Billund's miniland. Some of it is definitely showing its age and doesn't really match the times anymore but that if anything just adds to its charm and I honestly hope it doesn't change much going forward. The big harbour especially, that entire area is awesome, despite clearly showing its stuck in the 80's now more than ever. But heck that lively harbour just adds to the imagination. I mean I've never seen a kid not stop by the harbour at least once during the times I myself have visited Legoland Billund.

Yeah it is, but what I meant was that most of the time (mostly in movies) when they try to make something that is supposed to look like its from the Netherlands, they mess it up with German stuff, or they just fail miserably
