The match was abandoned after about 20 minutes. Leicester won the rematch 2 - 1,, played on Wednesday 30 November, 1983. Those in the ground were given a free ticket to watch the replay game.

I was at that game. It was abandoned in the 2nd half if I remember rightly.

No it wasn't. It was abandoned after about 20 minutes. I too was at the match. We were given a free ticket for the replay, which I didn't get to see. Leicester won the rematch 2 - 1. The replay was on Wednesday 30 November, 1983.

It was abandoned after about 20 or so minutes - I too was at the game, as a Southampton supporter. The weather had been shocking in the run up to the game. We were given a free ticket for the replay, which Leicester went onto win , 2 -1. I didn't manage to get to the replay and have still got my free ticket as a souvenir of that awful day weather wise.

When the referee abandoned that match, that was nothing. It didn't go down well with the city faithful on the terrace at all ! Two years before l attended an away fixture at Ewood Park. The sky really opened up, the pitch was far far worse. The game just carried on, with City winning 2 - 0 !
