The Miss Universe who changed my point of view on skin tone and made me confident in my own skin since i’m an asian girl with brown skin which is not considered beautiful here. She’s still an icon and role model for me til nowadays. If you were to ask me “who is your favorite miss universe?” she would be the first one.

I still remember watching Miss Universe 2011 on tv. Although I was sentimentally rooting for Miss Philippines, Leila was undeniably the winner that night. And I remember the crowd totally cheering for her, especially during the final look. What a queen!!

She proved you can also win with sweetness and poise. Love her!
