I remember watching Howard's Way back in the 80's .I think it shows just how TV has changed from those days of pure class, excellent script writers, good strong story line and of course top class actors. I have no comment to make about TV entertainment today!!

So sad that the very talented and handsome Tony Anholt died so young. What an amazing actor he was, Bond material for sure.

I've just come to the end of my Howardfest, just brilliant. Just so sad that so many of the cast are no longer with us, in particular the wonderful Tony Anholt who was just superb as Charles Frere. Thank you so much for these postings, I have enjoyed them immensely.

I watched episode 1 and then read on Wiki how Tom died before the end of the final series so I had to watch the rest... 72 hours later I'll never get those hours back but... love it. Always put Howards way on in work when I want some background noise. Love this show.

Got totally immersed for the third time. Loved it in the eighties and it has stood the test of time surprisingly well. I couldn't keep up with all the business plotting and shareholder shenanigans as it did get ridiculously convoluted at times, but it's a brilliantly entertaining series and thank you Leisurecruise for uploading. Truly outstanding acting throughout from the wonderful Gerald (Ivor Danvers) who brought such warmth and humanity to his role. I also enjoyed his scenes with Polly. I missed her in the last series and hoped for a final showdown (or reconciliation?) between her and Jan, but it wasn't to be.

The quality of this continuing show over the time period it was on was phenomenal, it literally summed up how the BBC during that decade at least then was still a measure of spending money but spending it wisely and putting heart and soul into something which turned out to be Howards Way. Just superb cast, acting and gave everyone a dose of the 80's American style dramas but in a very British setting that everything combined made this so special back then and even though was made all those decades back, is easy to watch again now and it still holds up. Cause as said everyone cast and many other unseen faces involved put everything into it and why will always be much cherished. The ones who are no longer with us, we will forever remember them and thankful for their supreme contribution over those years it was on our screens!!

Brilliant watching. Missed out on a lot of the episodes when it first came out. So glad to watch all the series. The clothes and design were beautiful. Also interesting to see shots on Malta in some episodes. I thought Howard's Way was left unfinished. Poor Leo for being a true gentleman and trusting Abbey with his son. She was quite an difficult character who couldn't make up her mind and in the end inheriting all that money went to her head. Would love BBC to continue where this series left off....

Words fail me..! What a beautiful end to the season. I watched a brief part of season 1 in the country where I grew up and was sold. I just searched and found the 6 seasons on the internet and have watched it over the last few months. Sad to lose Maurice C (Tom Howard) in season 5. It’s a massive shift though from season 1 where Avril Rolf and Abi looked very subdued and insecure to the final seasons when they became total divas. Also the narrative shifted from a general family adapting to changes of life to boardroom and shares and takeovers etc. It was hard to keep up with who was buying what. But overall a lovely series and could not have had a better ending. Thanks for posting.

I was 15 and had no interest in sailing when the first episode broadcast but I've binge-watched the whole lot in a matter of weeks and loved it. Now I know why my mum was glued all those years ago! I don't think it needed another series though, it all ties up nicely. Abby will become her mother and. go on to live a bitter and sad life; pouty Leo gets it together with Jolly Hockey Sticks Jenny; Ken Masters is the man; Charles finds peace; Jan remains neurotic; Kate will continue to be a terrible actress, and Jack leaves quietly with the love of his life. Perfect.

Always thought a nice touch was Jan about to raise a glass at the every end to missing Maurice Colbourne (Tom Howard Actor) after he passed in mid-1989. Plus Leo (Edward Highmore) is the dad of Freddie Highmore who went on to act in Charlie Chocolate Factory, Bates Motel and now The Good Doctor.

Well, I’ve just completed watching the entire series, thank you so much for posting it. I watched it on TV back in the 80s and got hooked but I must’ve missed a few episodes, and now I’ve filled in all the gaps. I was hooked all over again, to the extent that I was getting some stick for neglecting everything else… I was getting through 2 hours a day 😂 This was, and is, a superb series, capturing the heady days of the 80s. Drama, triumph, despair, intrigue, power, passion, naked ambition, and marked also by real life tragedy, it had it all. On a rather sobering note, it brings home the passing of time; I grew up thinking the elderly all dressed in tweed and were quaintly old fashioned and traditional… in my childhood that’s what they were. Here we have these trendy colourful characters, heralding the advent of mobile phones and desktop computers etc, not so very different to us… and not only have several of them already sadly passed away, most of those who are still with us are now in their eighties. Hard to believe. Well, I’ve had my fix for now, but I expect I will be back for more from time to time 👍👍👍

Thanks Steve for uploading. My life will be empty and meaningless now there are no more episodes to watch! I think the ending was timely - the plot was getting more and more convoluted and it was good to see some resolution at the end. Mind you it would be kind of interesting to know what Charles Freers next step in business would have been...

He'll probably contest the Will eventually and get appointed one of the co-executors when his child with Lynn is born. He'll scheme his way to running his late father's group, use that as a springboard to launch a takeover bid for FH to unify it all for the 4th generation... I think. 🤭

It's me again, guys and gals. I have to confess that this comment has absolutely nothing to do with the non-event that was the Howard's Way Gameshow. R.I.P. Nor do I suppose that it will inspire much of a cult, unless my research reveals that Ken has some kind of "thing" for the more rarefied levels of German catholic piety.. My problem is this. I have by me a true relick (verses 1 and 2) of a poem entitled "Winterrose" in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary. I would very much to unearth the missing bit. I won't impose on KZfaq's hospitality too much, so perhaps I can just quote three lines. "Das Roeslein, das ich meine/Davon Jesaias sagt/Ist Maria die Reine." Is there some hope that my wish may be granted?

Greetings to all HW fans across the world. Just finished revisiting this highly entertaining (even though not always well written, with annoying gaps in continuity, baffling plots, slapdash directing and some rather indifferent acting!) series and big thanks to LC for uploading it. The first time I watched it on BBC all those years ago I was quite captivated by the story of Leo and Abby and was very angry with the scriptwriters for making Abby seem a total cow. But I still believe that, had the series continued, the final outcome could have somehow brought these two together again - slowly and painfully, but eventually for good. After all, somewhere half way through the series, Abby states quite resolutely that her plan is to spend the rest of her life with Leo. So what happened? I really think there was supposed to be more to the story than we were allowed to see. I cannot resist imagining something like a collapse of the Hudson empire and Abby's return to England. I still believe the aim of the last series was to prepare the viewers for more twists and surprises. Pity there was no follow up.
