Fun fact.The actor who played Shaggy in this movie,as well as the sequel is the same actor who played Shaggy in Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. And now he serves as Shaggy's official voice actor,replacing Cassey Kasem.

1:30 - this is why it offends me so when people who _did_ have an ok time getting along with their peers growing up and went to parties and dated and all that shit call themselves nerds.

I didn't realize this was the intentional ending to the Nostalgia Critic, I'm glad he brought it back.

This movie gave me one of my favorite habits though, from the scene where the two "guards" (I don't know what to call them) are up in the watchtower after the gang calls for help. If you tell a joke or say something funny, abruptly quit laughing before the other person does and just stare at them. Mmm. I don't know why, but it's just so funny to me.

Wait he said that in the Scooby Doo universe there was no magic yet Zombie Island had magic that turned women into cat people and allowed them to raise the dead and in the Alien movie they also state aliens are real as well and they even show them at the end. All this took place before this movie mind you, not sure if Witch's Ghost did though.

Okay so the original Scooby Doo did rule out magic and actual ghosts, but I'm pretty sure there was an old spin off with Scooby and Shaggy trying to put a bunch of demons and ghost back in some book. And some of the movies had actual ghosts and real monsters - and who can forget Shaggy and Scooby being the unwilling teachers to an all ghouls academy for all the daughters of famous monsters? You can't exactly fault a movie for a gimmick that has actually been used and been successful in past installments. Just fault them for failing at it entirely.

Scooby Doo the movie. The positives: the casting is solid. Linda Cardellini does a good job as Velma. I kinda like Freddie Prince Jr as an actor. Any movie with Sarah Michelle Gellar automatically gets 10 awesome points. Matthew Lillard is perfect for the role of Shaggy. Rowan Atkinson is a comedy god and a great villain. The negatives: while the casting is great the filmmakers don't really seem to understand the characters, or their group dynamic. They don't understand the way the show works. They don't recreate the atmosphere of the show. I don't recall the show ever resorting to fart jokes and burp jokes. The computer effects are aweful.

They had Velma on the ground looking for her glasses when the monsters burst in. I only noticed it though because I had to pause to go get a cough drop. There's just so much stuff going on that you can honestly lose track of the characters!

Eh, I still like it. It is flawed, very flawed, but I still get a laugh when I watch it. The same with Monsters Unleashed. The other two live action films I hate, though.
