Lekki Conservation Centre Canopy Walk is said to be the longest canopy walkway in Africa. The walkway is 401 metres long and 22.5 metres above sea level. The Canopy Walkway is the main attraction of the Lekki Conservation Centre. It provides an aerial view of the mangrove which spans approximately 193 acres of natural vegetation and is home to a variety of animal and plant species.
Lekki Conservation Centre is a nature reserve. Unlike your typical zoo, the animals at the centre are allowed to roam freely in their natural habitat. They are not fed or taken care of by the groundskeepers but are required to source food and daily sustenance.
Some of the animals that you can find while exploring the Lekki Conservation Centre include Mona Monkeys, Peacocks, Tortoise, a variety of exotic Birds, Reptiles, and Civet Cats, among a host of other animals.
Lekki Conservation Centre is located along Km 19 Lekki - Epe Expy, Lekki Penninsula II 106104, Lekki, Nigeria. It is open Mondays through Sundays from 8.30am to 5pm.
The entrance fee is N1,000 (One Thousand Naira) per head to explore the grounds. An additional N1,000 (One Thousand Naira) per head is charged for those who decide to go on the Canopy Walkway.
Comfortable athleisure clothing is recommended for those visiting Lekki Conservation Centre, especially for those interested in going on the Canopy Walkway. It is advisable to avoid going on the Canopy Walkway if you are scared of heights. The bridges tend to get wobbly the higher you go especially if it is a particularly windy day.
There are also floor games like Chess, Ludo, and Draft that visitors can participate in. There are also food and snack vendors on the grounds from whom visitors can purchase Cold Beverages and snacks like Suya, Sharwama, Grilled Plantain and Chicken, Ice Cream, and lots more.
