I've had to report my neighbor several times for playing music too loud in their front lawn, but to be fair, their music was SO loud that I couldn't even hear my own computer speakers that are literally two feet in front of my face. I don't mind some noise from neighbors or roommates - I can hear my roommate's TV through the door right now, but only just barely and only because I have the video paused - but there is a point when too much is too much. And yes, I did live in a lower floor apartment. I learned to ignore the "everyday sounds" of the upstairs neighbor like them walking around, accidentally dropping things once in a while and such - he had every right to live his life in his home as I did and that's just something you have to learn to live with in that situation.

I've been on both sides of this. When I ask neighbors to quiet down I wait until it's unreasonably loud. Had some drunk college kids next door partying outside while my 3 year old niece was trying to sleep. Then when ppl have asked me to quiet down I'll do it, but there is always that one person who reacts to EVERY SINGLE SLIGHT NOISE

This literally reminds me of my neighbor. I won't get into it too much because it's mind blowing, but long story short I finally came to the conclusion that the things he was "hearing" he must be putting his ear to the wall or recording us from the inside. Real psycho type stuff and I'd hear weird noises in our basement till I barricaded the paper wall that divided our basements and reinforced my locks down there. My son moved out a few months ago who was barely home to begin with because he worked a lot, played ball with friends, went to the gym, had friends and a gf, barely home, so now it's just me and two girls. Started documenting with the police over a year ago, I did. And now he's looking like a real psycho cuz one night he pounded on my walls when I was literally sitting at my computer working with headphones on being quiet and my daughters were just quietly talking in their beds as they fell asleep like little girls do. My turn to call the landlord and documented later with police. Most recently he pounded on my door at night two different nights and ran. We knew it was him cause his creepy son told my daughter weird stuff on the bus. I've got them separated on the bus too cause of his creepy sons who always say weird things to my daughters about our family. He's training them to be weirdos just like him...cops knocked on his door to see if it was him who knocked and the cop and I came to the conclusion that he wouldn't admit it either way. But I said, if it doesn't happen again then we'll know it was him cause he knows I'm not playing and I"ll call the cops. Hasn't happened since...douche bag. So much for not saying much, lol. But believe it or not there's so much more!!! Can't wait to move...my first time in an apartment in over ten years, never again.

When i was little, my family lived in an apartment on the ground level and there was another apartment above us. Well, everyday there would be constant horribly loud noise that even visitors would complain about. Since it didn't stop after weeks, even after talking to the neighbors, my parents called the cops. The cops later told us that they had a CONCRETE BLOCK tied to a string and they used it so they could drag it across and bang the floor. They were causing so much discomfort on purpose smh
