Eleanor Rigby was first released on the LP Revolver in August 1966.
The setting is unique with Paul McCartneys voice only accompanied by a double string quartet in a beautiful arrangement by The Beatles producer Sir George Martin.
Guitar by Georg Bolin 1974

Transport him to a different time period and Paul McCartney could've been our Bach or Beethoven. A lot of his music reveals a deep understanding/appreciation for classical music, despite the fact that the beatles couldn't really read music or knew much music theory at all. And yet so many of his compositions feels like a piece of classical music flawlessly translated into a pop framework.

He's probably been doing it since he was young. I can play to his standard too, it's not that big of a deal to me because it's just part of my life. It's just practice here and there over the years. Once you get to a certain point, this all becomes pretty easy. Point I'm trying to make is that it really isn't that hard to comprehend when you see the reality of it behind the scenes.

We all are proud of GS here in SWE. He introduced the alto guitar to the world in the late 70s when he won the Concours International de Guitare in Paris. Beatles might seem simple - sorry for saying so - but Söllscher is a guitar hero with anything from them or Villa-Lobos to JS Bach's fugues - or indeed Benjamin Britten.

This is an incredible arrangement and a stupefyingly gorgeous performance. You've kept the architecture and mood of the original perfectly, and I don't even know how difficult it must have been to bring the massive sonic landscape of Eleanor Rigby to life with just two hands and one instrument... and yet the quiet bleak pathos is still there, not overwhelmed by the louder dramatic parts, and you don't rush your way through. Beautifully, beautifully done.

He just broke down the parts and worked out how to arrange them on guitar. This is likely how McCartney went about writing it in the first place. He probably had the parts worked out on piano first. I think he also tuned the strings in a way that allows him o play the melodies along with the rhythm. And also he didn't need that crazy guitar lol. You can play the same thing on normal guitar.

Beautiful rendition of this piece. Counterpoint is excellent. I love how the bass is pulsing and the melody takes a single line as well as a chordal approach, then near the end the bass plays the melody momentarily while the chords up top are pulsing. Outstanding! That was beautiful. This guitar sounds kinda like a bass and a regular guitar combined. I really liked that thank you.

Love you playing. First film and I am going to stay here for a while. The precision that you have plucking those strings is hypnotising. But the best thing is that you've transposed eleanor rigby onto the frets of this beast. Cannot wait for more.
