There's absolutely no reason to worry about the Chromebook Lenovo duet speaker volume problem. There's a super extension called Volume Master that will raise the sound 600%. Works great.

I've had this for about 4 months. I absolutely love it! It's surprisingly super fast, I use it for browsing, college (with a stylus for drawings). The keyboard, although it takes a bit to get used to at first because it's small, is super fast! This takes me back to a Dell I had that was Tablet/Windows but that one had hard, fixed connections from screen to keyboard and it snapped/broke off. That's the smart thing about this Lenovo that the connection is a fabric that can bend, so if it snaps off accidentally it won't break and the magnets are strong where it aligns them up for you automatically. I play some games on it every now and then and it does well with that too. The stand that it comes with is so convenient. The screen is daunting and crystal clear! I'd say the only thing I didn't like is that there is only USB-C connections, no audio headphone jack but this thing is a force. My family also but same exact one and they love it too.

These are fantastic devices. It's amazing what chrome os is able to achieve with 4 gigs of ram on my duet 2. It's not trying to be a powerhouse tablet, it's perfect as a media consumption and light work device - uses for which you don't need a powerhouse tablet

I ordered the 8gb version of the 3 on Dec 8 when I saw an article on your website about a sale on the Lenovo website on it. I think they removed it back off their site the day after I ordered and your article was posted. That combined with the fact that it took them forever to get it to me, makes me wonder if it showing up on their system when it did might have been an error. All of that being said, it finally showed up yesterday, and so far I love it, the screen is beautiful and bright and is obviously clearer and brighter than the one on my Galaxy tab s7 FE and a tiny bit better my Yoga tab 13(I've been slightly obsessed with finding the perfect companion tablet to my PC over the past few years so yes i have all 3 and have done side by side video/sound comparisons) The sound is fine when sitting directly in front of it as long as you aren't in a noisy area, both my Samsung and yoga tab blow this out of the water in the sound department. The keyboard, being only for a 10 inch tablet is obviously too small for a full grown man to comfortably type on for a long period of time but it is far better than using an on screen keyboard and I typed this excessively long comment on it just fine. I should say that I also owned the Duet 5 8gb variant for about a week about year ago but returned it because it ultimately wasn't what I was looking for, that being said if a chromebook was going to be your primary device and you were deadset on it being able to be used in pure tablet form I'd go to with the Duet 5, the bigger screen and keyboard is nice. If you were looking for a chrome based carry around the house playing games and watching youtube that you can also get a bit of light work done on while on vacation like I was, I think the Duet 3 is the ticket. The one thing I really dont like about either duet though, the sharp edges on the back kickstand cover make using it tablet mode for any extended period of time pretty uncomfortable. The great thing is that it is magnetically attached so I usually just take it off and set it on a nearby table when playing games.

I could never use a 4GB machine in 2022 though I get this is fitting into a price segment and that compromises have to be made, like no backlit keyboard. ChromeOS has improved with RAM management lately and I tend to use about 1-2GB less than I did a year ago using the same workflow, but that is not praise, as it was a nasty RAM hog back then and Google needed to get closer to Edge and Firefox. I feel that this offers a tablet ChromeOS interface but I am not sold on Chrome tablets at all and even though my Pixel Slate has improved, it remains half-baked for tablet use. I feel that an Android tablet would be a much better way to go but obviously a bit more expensive. Though for the money, higher storage, better speakers, more RAM, better displays, faster chips and much better pen support (especially Samsung).

I just love this channel. It's ironic that there is a dearth of Chromebooks here in the Philippines. We are the perfect country for it. We use broadband internet like 4G or 5G more than fixed internet, and most people - i.e. students and young professionals, since we have more people under 30 than over it - prefer 2in1s or budget laptops/tablets over expensive ones since they prioritizes more on learning and doing wfh stuff. Not everyone will need my Thinkpad T15 or my older Elitebook 840. Chromebooks will be a boon here, given that most people use Android as well. Most schools and small businesses here use Meet as well. I know lots of people who will be the perfect audience for this. They want something to type on, use Google Slides, Docs or Sheets on, use Meet on, use Zoom or Telegram when needed, and play some light games when needed. Moreover, while fiber and satellite are expensive af here, broadband is pretty dirt cheap; unlimited 5G (sub6, not mmWave, but who cares) for a week for like $6, for one. Yes, I have those laptops, and I have a Tab S8+. I have a fixed fiber internet with a wireless router. I code and I use SAP. I use an SSH client. I need to use a virtual machine for my clients' environments. I'm not the audience here. But my cousins, who rely on 4G, has no laptops nor tablets, and has basic Android phones, are. The children of some of my cousins or friends, who go to elementary and high school, who rely on computer shops because they can't afford expensive laptops, are (I keep on telling them to stay away from laptops that are like $500 here but have 720p 14" displays that are made of bad plastic, have 4GB of RAM, 25gGB of spinning HD Storage, etc).

They won't because Google intentionally doesn't support Mirrarcast because they have Google Cast. Android way back supported it but Google removed Mirrarcast and there went sharing to a Smart TV. Windows uses Mirrarcast. Which Samsung have always supported which is why Galaxy Tabs do it. One of the Pros of Android's open source nature vs ChromeOS' closed nature. Google may add it between Chromebooks but mostly people don't own a Chromebook laptop and tablet. Add in the small ChromeOS tablet market and I wouldn't expect it soon.

Everyone who's watching this and the know-how duet 5 is typically the much better deal valley for dollar value for dollar reason being it goes on sale it's about $400 to just $379 and it has a much bigger screen 13.3 it's a OLED screen It has quad speakers It has 128 GB storage 8 GB of RAM and same processor so both of these are actually all of the Lenovo duets are non-expandable storage keep that in mind so I would recommend getting at least 128 minimum so it just offers way more and it usually goes on sale never mind anything for MSRP just wait for the sales they these devices go on sale monthly and if you want to get the 128 GB model for the Lenovo duet 3 I believe it's even more expensive so it doesn't make any sense yeah on top of that you'll note Lenovo do it 5 it's uses all USI styluses so it's if you want a stylus you can pretty much get any just make sure it matches up with the the marks or whatever online so there's no not that headache to have to deal with and I mean it's bigger so it'll have a bigger keyboard so it's less cramped so if you want more longevity then they do it 5 just has more RAM It has more space it's bigger bigger battery life this and that If you don't want a big Chromebook like Chromebook tablet then to be honest I would just get the tab S7 Galaxy tab S7 a used one and it'll be much more powerful expandable storage and a bunch of other crazy good features Chromebook tablets they're great idea but I think there's still refining them if I'm being honest and for Chromebooks yes you you don't honestly you won't doom like way much on them like I don't know what to say really just you won't do crazy 4K editing video editing like that You may be doing some light photo editing but you'll need a much better chip than the 7C Gen 2 has to offer so it's really going to be about RAM management The more RAM the better the duet 3 what the Lenovo do at the original was just such a good offer because it went on sale so often and it gave you everything it needed for like 199 when I was on sale or 189 I don't know It was super cheap It was ridiculous and it's great build quality so this new one yeah the speakers are not better I guess The camera is actually it's good because I think it it's one of the only Chromebooks that has a s*** I don't know actually never mind I don't know if it has a 1080p The only camera that matters is the one that's facing you but and that's only for zoom calls so then you know not for taking pictures or anything just for zoom calls or you know Facebook all that crap so if I were you on Best buy goes on sale and then you could also check the open box Best buy ones You go I would recommend go to the location testing item out looking it up and testing it out and then even cheaper than the sale price when it's on sale so another thing I was I heard reviews on the Acer spin 713 and he stated yeah we get we get 10 12 hours on that thing mix usage this yada yada yada and I kid you not I get about 6 hours That's with only Wi-Fi browsing KZfaq Google docs so very simple stuff and this is what my brightness always at least halfway down or less so I will not trust his recommendation especially when he is no snow samples I fell for it and that's one of the main reasons I got a Chromebook was to get a good battery life I've tested two other Chromebooks and they were incredible battery life they were lower processors they were not until I 511 Jen they were celerons and 4020 and then immediate tech 8183 those battery life were incredible 10 to 12 hours and that's with pushing it so awesome If you have any questions in Chromebooks feel free to message me or let me know I'd be happy to help but this Chromebook at that price 379 is I believe it rip off Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 is the equivalent of I think the 700 series maybe 7 700 to 720 Snapdragon series it's very low it's pretty low end and that's with 8 GB of RAM though so don't get the 4 GB to our model it's Chrome uses a lot of RAM. So don't do that

What about LTE? I have been looking for a Chromebook with LYE, preferably 5G, but I can't find one. While WiFi is often available, it is not always there. And using my phone as a hot spot means two devices are drawing battery power.

How does this perform with Android apps, which run well on Android tablets? For instance, on my Galaxy Tab, there are a number of non Samsung Notes apps which I can utilize to take notes and which have excellent compatibility with the S Pen. Is that the case with things like Nebo for the USI pen?

Is it 32 or 64 bit? (32 bit on its predecessor is the reason I never purchased Duet 2)
@greatestuff
@greatestuff 2 жыл бұрын
Chromebooks manufacturers, Lenovo in this case, aren't making it clear what bit version they're using. The only way I knew the Duet 2 was 32 bit was when I got my hands on one at Best Buy and happened to notice in the 'About ChromeOS' in Settings.

The latest update of version 115 broke my duet 3. I have to roll back to 114. Anyone know how to skip 115 and update to 116 directly? I see 116 is the latest one.

i have the 8GB version from lenovo's website. It's having an issue where it drains significant power while asleep (from full charge to 78% over 8 hrs of being on sleep mode). others on the web have noticed this info. limited support from lenovo. any idea what's the issue here? is the review unit having similar issues? are other users?

I watched some reviews on youtube telling that the duet 3 has some real issues with the back camera sensor. There might be a problem with the auto focus. Neither tap to focus nor waiting to focus will work and the picture stays blurry also after severals attempts. Can you confirm this?

I'm looking for a powerful portable device so 11" would be perfect, because i need to carry a regular Windows laptop for work, so this one would be for private use. In addition I need to use Linux apps, so most likely a device with arm would be not ideal. Which one would you recommend? I think that the Duet would be not recommended for large use of Crostini and Linux. Also I like to watch Netflix or Amazon prime in off line so going to simple Linux device mighty be also not a solution.

Depends on which apps, I have the original Duet (using it to type this actually ;) ) and haven't had any issues installing Linux apps. I haven't done any extensive app installs (I have a Linux desktop & Linux/Win laptop) but I currently have Gimp & X2Go installed on it. In my (limited) experience, most Linux apps have Arm versions, but of course your use case may be different.

@@nicholaswilson9724 Many thanks for sharing your experience. I'm pointing for standard apps as you mention (Gimps) but also Firefox. So I think that going for the most powerful version with 8 Gb of ram should be fine for my use.
