Liked ur video.Thanks for the info provided by you! My lenovo G580 1TB hard disk has been crashed. What should I do?Should I go for 1tb or 500 gb ? I asked this question just because the performance of my Dual Core laptop is decreased & was taking around 30 minutes to boot.Should I go for a new one or change the hard disk & if needed upgrade the Ram also.Kindly suggest brother.

No, you can't update the processor on a laptop, the mobile version of processors are soldered unto the board.

Hello sir, I just watched ua video.. I'm having all similar laptop.. Same lenovo g580.. But I'm having 2012 "" Intel pentium "" on my laptop 4gb ram and 500gb hdd... It's very lagging for every click on screen .. Please do suggest me what to upgrade.. I have done disc clean up tried formatting once.. Using it for engg purpose..ua suggestion would be valuable..

I upgraded ram in lenovo G580 4gb to 8 gb but it shows only 3.4 gb usable I did msconfig advanced memory setting unchecked. Still shows only 3.4 gb usable?

It depends on how much your laptops processor supports. You can just google the model of your processor and you will find everything about it in Intels website. Moreover, laptop motherboards *usually* have 2 slots for ram cards, and in this laptop you will get 2 slots. Therefore, the max configuration for ram will be 2 x 4gbs (if max 8 gb supported) or 2 x 8gbs (if max 16 gb supported).

Okay. I feel cheated. The second slot is not even soldered in my Lenovo G580. I looked at the Lenovo Solution Centre that said, I still have 3 slots empty and bought Two 2GB cards. And I see only ONE slot, that too taken !!

no, he said that you can upgrade to 8 gigs. i dont know if all models do have the same RAM, but on the core i7 model, you've got 4 gigs, which you can upgrade to 8 gigs

***** If it's a G580, you should be able to upgrade the CPU, but your selection of compatible ones is limited. I threw an i5-3210M into mine.

Please remove the CMOS cell once ,start the pc,shutdown ,put a new CMOS cell and restart. The bios password would have resetted

Hoosain Sange it was a password set by my brother (previous owner) when you first turn the laptop on it asks you for a password so if you are the owner of the laptop try your normal passwords or your name as it is type on the user account

Yes, "Techstore", I really find it irritating that here I am trying to remove the CMOS battery from this model laptop without doing any damage to it, (being that it's not your "normal" easy to remove type CMOS battery with wires, or simple clip to pull back and release it with); and by the title for your video, you'd think surely that this would show me how to do that. Instead, you "mention" removing the battery, but don't physically do it. What a waste of my, and many other people's, (I'm sure's), time. I've gone through dozens of videos now on this model and have yet to find one that shows or adequately explains this procedure. I'm starting to think this is some sort of highly guarded secret or something. (LoL), for it's not shown nor explained in the User, nor the Repair manuals for this model either. Very frustrating.
