Loki didn't show Kamal in Vikram's First half , and build up for the villians was great in Vikram... But in Leo, Vijay overplayed all characters which tends to loose the strength in Villians. But , a good movie for Vijay after Kaththi, Master.

Exactly bro, I felt the same after watching the movie. First half of the movie is great and second half was very lagging and bit boring too.

Think of it like this, Leo is a set up movie for LCU where we will get more entertaining Vijay. Not only that, its also make it a possibility for a standalone movie on Leo 2 which may include flashback on, Das&Co, Antony, Harold and most importantly Leo where he can explore the characters in depth. Its just like watching any other marvel superhero movies where they explore the superhero character in the 1st movie. Then they explore it more in subsequent movies and connect it to MCU. Look at it in that angle and you may appreciate what we were given. I personally feel Loki held back many things so he has a wider scope in future LCU movies.

To be honest I feel like for any of the movies If it is not a perfect one, over hype will lead to the let down of that movie. For LEO, If it would not have over-hyped, It could have been a superb movie. Also They could have used LCU factors effectively. But Somehow they have failed to fulfill that expectation. Vijay's acting was quite impressive. I think lokesh's upcoming movies will have a big responsibility that they have to regain the LCU's magic again.

Movie had a great potential to have a unique story line till the Sandy’s gang peak scenes. After that story kind of derailed. Treat for Thalapathy’s fan but a slight disappointment for Loki fan and general audience. I felt like loki is concentrating more on the technical aspect than on the story itself. VFX was inconsistent compared to the hyena scene(Hollywood level) and car chase scene(same as Master car chase).

The first half was really good. I expected the second half to be even more pacy in Lokesh Movie… I expected that more than vikram this Leo will be good. But if u have an expectation like vikram, pls don’t expect coz it’s not! Yet , Vijay has done his part. DOP was excellent… Stunt was great… Ani BGM as usual, of course the strength to the entire movie… if u compare vikram and Leo. For me , it’s Vikram. I am Thalapathy fan…

Genuine review 👍 Title card was mind-blowing best in recent times 🔥🔥 The first half of narrative is so good,, intense even ended with a bang in the interval. Second half is the weakest screenplay from Lokesh. The well-built villains the build up all suffered from weak characterization, flashback, sister character, half cooked product even LCU characters were forced into this in climax.

Very Predictable if you've watched history of violence. Thalapathy's acting was brilliant. Lokesh knew the remake of history of violence is not going to satisfy the audience, maybe thalapathy fans would've enjoyed, but to create a hype between general audience, he included 1 small character from kaithi and another voiceover at post credit, which looked like those LCU things were forcefully implemented into a standalone movie.

movie was v engaging, no lagging except the flashback scene. Hyena fight scene, car chasing scene, Coffee shop fights are briliant like English movies. Director convinces the fans that all these extreme violence is done by Vijay to save his family, hence its justified

This time have to honestly say Nelson's jailer has scored over lokesh's leo in terms of villain characterization & 2nd half. Vinayagan in jailer was a more powerful villain than half baked arjun & sanjay dutt in leo. First, time, lokesh missed to write a strong antagonist.

Imo it will go like this : Vikram>Kaithi>Maanagaram>Leo=>Master. Leo is pretty good, but it definitely could've been better. The 1st half was actually very impressive, but if the 2nd half was the same, it would've been better than vikram ngl. The 2nd half's flashback wasn't needed, but that wasn't long. The villains could've been more menacing and written better, but the climax wasn't bad at all. LCU connected did seem a bit forced, but that didn't affect much. People need to realise that LEO is in the LCU, and that there is more to explore. These characters will be explored, and so will Leo. If people are judging about characterisation now, its just wrong. I see the problem, but there's more to explore in a sequel, or spinoff. 7.5/10

Really good review. You spoke the truth. There were a lot of valuable actors who were under utilized.. how the hell one supposed to sympathize with a character’s death who appeared on screen for 2 min. Really poor screenplay on that part. Like you said the movie could have been better. But now it’s just average.

However, I later realized that Lokesh is a director known for meticulous attention to detail and continuity. This led me to understand that the absence of bullet marks may have been intentional, suggesting that the flashback was actually an imagined story narrated by the character D'Souza
