Good to see so many Trollope books! Did i miss something or did you not only review the first half of Can you Forgive Her? Looking forward to hear your thoughts on Phineas Finn, i just read it and loved it!

At some point when I was trawling around on the Trollope Society website, I remember running across a discussion of revisions made with the goal of creating something closer to what the Trollope would have chosen to publish in book form. The essay went into detail about what kinds of changes were made. The effort was a scholarly one based on Trollope's original drafts, I think. (What I read was not about Eustace Diamonds, I don't think, but I suspect the revisions are similar.)

Re: The revised edition Trollope title, the word you were searching for is expurgated. Looking forward to watching your library tour in reverse. St Donoghue referred me. 😺✌️

I have Dostoevsky's The Idiot and The Brothers Karamazov sitting menacingly on my bookshelf but feel too scared to pick them up. Please advise.

Karamazov caters to the philosophically curious! If you wish to be soothed and scorched with ruminations of that sort then you’ll love it. Plus, the final court scene is a great reward for a reader’s endurance. I’d advise you to dive right in!
