I have the LH-36, and the friction knob is not designed properly! You have to tighten the knob extremely tight in order to get any friction, but then its too tight. There is no sweet spot as its too much or too little. Use a lot of force to tighten, then its too hard to move the ball head and its very sticky. I try to turn the knob the tiniest amount and its now too loose. Apparently Im not the first one to bring this up. Second, the big knob is not on the correct side. You would have to have the ballhead backward in order to have the large knob on your left side.

Just wondering if Leo Photo has bought the venerable Really Right Stuff? They look very similar in design but a few minor changes in outward appearance. Interesting times!

Heh do you think the stock pcl-60 clamp on your lh-55 can be removed and then you could add leofoto’s g2 or g20 geared leveling head ontop of your lh-55 ?

Thanks for the review! Do you know if this would be similar to the Sunwayfoto ball head? It looks the same as the Leofoto version and I am not sure which is better.

Unfortunately, I have no experience with Sunway Photo equipment but from what I gleaned from a quick look I doubt the quality is as good as Leofoto. Cheers

Does the PCL 60 have a threaded hole in the center so it can be screwed onto a 3/8" stud on leveling base?

Yes, absolutely. If you notice just above the 3 roller wheels on my crossbar you'll see an aluminum plate which has a 3/8" stud(that you can't see) which is how the ballhead mounts to it. Paul

Hey, so sorry scratch that last. I was referring to the ballhead and you're asking about the clamping release part. The PCL-60 fastens to the post of the ball via an allen key screw which runs down through the center hole of the PCL-60 into the post of the ball. There is no 3/8" stud coming out of the post on the ball if that makes sense? Paul

i just got mine andit's okayk not great. The smallerfine-tunee knob istooo small and is easy to bump when turning the pan lock knob. It's not a bad ball head butI i am returning mine for a refund.

Hey, sorry to hear you're not happy with yours. I love mine and have no issues whatsoever with the fine tune knob and when you factor in the price it's a terrific value. Cheers.
