Drew is on a mission to buy as many antiques as he can in a day. So, he’s heading to Leominster to visit some of the town’s best stores and hopefully take home a few striking items. #SalvageHunters

There are some stunning houses around Leominster. I bought a Howard and Sons library table from a huge house there for just £190.

I live in Poland now, there's hardly any antique shops here, it's bizarre, maybe there's more in Warsaw or Gdansk but not in our city, love your show and bargain hunting Drew

I am American so I went to the UK recently for a cross country hunt of quality pieces. To my amazement, I wasted 2 weeks finding only crap quality "vintage" pieces not worth taking back home. Nearly all antiques of decent quality have either migrated to London for exorbitant prices or to online shops. The UK has sold off most of its heritage and international loot from days of empire.
@mm97735 жыл бұрын
You had a look around the UK for two weeks and concluded that the country is empty?
@michaelspencer63185 жыл бұрын
what were you looking for ?
@drsquirrel003 жыл бұрын
There is a lot of buying going on in these areas who then take them back to London to sell, and from there things move abroad.
@david-lt9wj3 жыл бұрын
All the quality stuff gets recognised...if you’re a connoisseur like drew you can spot the booty.

The ignorance is astounding. If you didn’t realise, Britain has thousands upon thousands of stately homes, castles and manor houses filled to the rafters with important pieces of our heritage: furniture, porcelain, silverware, artwork, tapestries, books, glass, rugs, manuscripts, jewellery etc etc etc (and of course not to mention the historic building itself). We have retained an aristocracy, and therefore preserved vast amounts of priceless objects of our history through the families that collected them; and because collections were passed down to the eldest son of the family “only”, they stayed entirely intact. Your point about antiques shops being empty is ridiculous. I live in the English countryside, and you can easily find treasures in most villages/ market towns - you just need to know what to look for. Love to know exactly where you went on your 2 week excursion?

All antique dealers are bad in mathematics , but good at deco , art and money , for an example if the price is $100 the other buying trade dealer will ask for $50 , when they want to do o meet in the middle the buying trade dealer would said $60 and the selling trade dealer would said $90 😅😂🤣 , 🧐 I'm professor asd ASD 🤪
