Discovered this song a few months ago, along with "Footprints in the Sand". My wife and I just celebrated our 50th Anniversary. It touched me so deeply because my wife was dying and very sick. I bought the album for her and gave it to her on Christmas Eve. We played it all day. how she loved it. She died early Christmas morning. As I lifted her up and held her close to my heart I heard these songs pass over us. Thank you Leona for understanding what Love truly is and that you had put my feelings in your sweet music.

I was her care giver for over 20 years. I Our life together is complete. I am now free to possibly fulfill my dreams to have ferther relationships that are full of friendship, love and intimacy. I wish you all the happiness and love in your life as well.

I just sang this at my brothers funeral in front of everyone, hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Knowing his body was right behind me in the coffin I just wanted to run to him and grab him and hug and cry but it was suicide and the coroners warned me not to look at the body as it didn’t look like my brother anymore. I love you so much Lee Adam Bajan, i’ll carry you with me forever ❤️

No, Snow patrol who wrote and sang the original are criminally under rated. This version is ott with verbrato, nice in places but the original truly tells a deep story. This is more like a demo for her voice. The original combined with another song they wrote: set the fire, is a powerful story and an example of excepional songwriting, story telling, musicianship and singing.

That's all the people that used to come here multiple times per day to say Snow Patrol did it better. It's refreshing to see they're no longer all over the first page. I like Snow Patrol and I know they did it first but 23 million Snow Patrol views on their official video vs 56 million on Leona's pretty much speaks for itself.

Surely anyone could appreciate Leona's heartful voice taking Snow Patrol's catchy power ballad and IMHO improving on it. So maybe it was the rather gloomy video they didn't like? Both videos look like they were made on tight budgets, unfortunately-even if they weren't. It was 5yo when she covered it and might have struck some as a bit _passé_, is allI can think.

My daughter passed away in the month of Jan 2020.. she was just nine months old..she was suffering from something else and the doctors gave the wrong meds..she couldn't speak what was really going on with her body and this song reminds me of her so much..love u my baby Serene..love u my angel..till we meet again..
