I'm a classically-trained keyboardist and film composer, so I know what it takes to perform and produce these covers. Then there's the fact that Chicago is among my 5 most favorite bands and the fact that "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" is 1 of my favorite Chicago songs! I ran into Leonid & Friends by happy coincidence while checking out Chicago songs performed by the band itself and cover bands (thank you, KZfaq algorithms). I was amazed by the careful recreation of the original arrangements, the passionate and amazing performances by Leonid & Friends, and the excellent production quality! Leonid, I know it takes a lot of time to transcribe these arrangements, produce, mix, master, and complete video editing. I suspect that it's a labor of love. I, for one, greatly appreciate all or your hard work and appreciate your bringing together this amazing group of musicians to perform and produce these covers! As I have looked around KZfaq for Chicago songs performed by the band itself, I have had a hard time finding versions of their songs performed by them using current recording technology. You all come the closest that I have found to faithful renderings of Chicago songs, but bonus, using modern recording and video technology. BRAVO!

Their cover of Fantasy by Earth, Wind & Fire is indistiguishable from the original. This cover is actually the least great of all their covers I've heard so far. But that is a massively high bar. It's just so hard to go toe to toe with Peter Cetera.

I just saw L&F 3 weeks ago and the real Chicago last week (11/4/2021) at the MGM Casino near Cleveland, OH. I've said it before on these L&F videos and I'll say it again: it's one thing for Peter Cetera and the rest of Chicago to write and arrange this song (and all their songs) from scratch. But when you consider what Leonid Vorobyev did here: he listened to the record, on his stereo or headphones, and proceeded to break down each individual instrument and vocal and harmony part individually, then transcribe those parts by hand on to sheet music using long hand music notation, then assemble the best musicians he could find, then show them and teach them the music and arrangement on each DIFFERENT instrument, and have everyone sing in near perfect English when it's not even their second or third language....... absolutely amazing job and a project for all these songs that surely took months if not years to finalize. Just think about it. You're listening to a song on your stereo and then you want to set out to write out the music of every part just from your ear.

These guys are stunningly incredible. Except for Peter Cetera having a uniquely recognizable voice, this sounds IDENTICAL to the studio version. Incredible. Oh, and the female vocalist is gorgeous. :)

No one can match Cetera. No one. His voice is silky smooth. The horns were excellent on this. And guitar was better on this one than 25 or 6 to 4. But he still impressed me on that one too.

It's hard to improve on perfection but Igor you did it. The drum track on the Chicago original is so flat and mechanical. You put syncopation and energy into your interpretation.

So my dream finally came through. I had to drive over 700 miles but I got to see Leonid and Friends in person in Shipshewana, Indiana. They were FANTASTIC. Now, I’ve got to find another concert closer to Atlanta. Love them all.

Leonid is a master of covering the very difficult to recreate songs of Chicago. Again, absolutely perfect vocals, horns and strings. And when the beat picks up for Get Away, the whole band is rockin and 100% in sync. Leonid you do AMAZING work, no doubt about it. Your covers could EASILY be mistaken for the originals they are SO well done. BRAVO!

I feel very fortunate and blessed to have seen Chicago in concert in Pittsburgh in 1982. My girlfriend and I were seated 6 rows from the stage in lounge chairs as Peter Cetera and crew sang this song live for one of the first times. The band were all dressed in white karate robes and headbands to promote Karate Kid. Unbelievable experience. Many thanks to Leonid and Friends for reigniting great memories with a spot-on performance.

I cant stop watching all of Leonid and Friends videos showcasing all the greatest hits of Chicago and more! I grew up with Chicago, I remember in the late 70's driving down Alki Beach in my 1963 Chevy SS and have Saturday In The Park blasting away! Leonid and all his friends are beyond being talented, They are truly the greatest cover band in the 21st Century!

I really love this song from Chicago. Sergey has the same elastic voice as Peter Cetera. That's why it's not a cover. This is Chicago's second line-up. And which one is better is up to you.

This band has shattered my pre-conceived ideas about Russian people (dreary and warloving), sensational revelation, they’re human just like the rest of us!….AND…..they love the same music as we do…..songs such as this performed with respect to the original, and technically brilliant 👍❤️

They have cut off the second half of this song so much here in the radio that to hear it again has been a real treat. That was magnificent. Hope Chicago checked these videos out. "The Brass kicks Ass!" And so does everyone else.

Another HUGE grand slam out of the park. They say that nuclear fision is much more powerful than fusion. This "Super Group" is pure Chicago fision. Don't ever split up the powerful masterpiece that you have assembled. Leonid, a huge "Thank you" for keeping the dream alive!!! Now that said, TOUR THE WORLD, or atleast the United States!!!

I grew up playing sax and clarinet in elementary and junior high orchestras and stage bands. When BS&T and Chicago came on the scene, we wanted to be them. (Then I found a guitar in high school and woodwinds went out the door.) Leonid & Friends fulfills the dream. In particular, this medley piece is just smashing technically. I like to come back here for frequent visits.

This is not an easy song to replicate the original studio version, but they were spot on, especially the horn and strings sections. Would love to hear your version of Beginnings, Call On Me, and Just You ‘N’ Me. Bravo!

One more JEWEL from Russia shared with the World!!! Fantastic Job!! I can only imagine if those old bands would have been able to make studio recordings like this and capture it on Video! Or the ones that had the technology available instead chose to make those lame CONCEPT VIDEOS. I love watching the singers and musicians playing their instruments without lip singing or fake playing.
