Jesus Christ..!!! What a voice...what an excellent band..!!! It blows me away. Every band member is a gem. And Ksenia Buzina is an absolute blast! Vocally and visually! This formation from Russia is by far the best cover band in the world, no doubt! Leonid Vorobyev and his band show that music connects people worldwide. Even in these difficult times. Been playing in bands for 50yrs (play bass), grew up on most if not all the numbers they cover - I've got a good ear and a pretty good music memory, can still play most of these numbers without charts. The level of talent and music professional skill of these guys is outrageous. They NAIL these covers in every detail. Fantastic.

Did you know that when they first started out, Leonid could not get the Chicago sheet music in Russia, so he wrote out all the parts by ear? If you listen to some of their early Chicago-covers, they are spot on. It is amazing...........and I am also saying that as a musician. (and someone who knows the lead singer in this song) Alan Parsons did an interview not long ago with the Professor of Rock KZfaq channel.........always good to see some of the greats from that era still with us.

Holey Moley what an absolute blast of a cover. The band is simply top notch. Kasenia is truly the right person to take on the legend that is Chaka Khan. What a voice. Brilliant. And the arrangement is absolutely first class, chord changes working well within the framework of the song. I love this ensemble. They will be greatly received in America. All her features are perfect…..eyes, teeth, cheek bones, lips, lashes, etc. Her popularity has grown and I guess us guys want her to remain as she was.

The original composer of this song, David "Hawk" Wolinski and I were "besties" at one time and played together in a band out of Chicago called Bangor Flying Circus. Hawk wrote this later for Chaka, who is was playing with. It's great to hear the song covered so well and with such respect for the original. Sid Sims

The most amazing thing about this group is that most of them cannot understand or speak English, which proves the tremendous power of music. When Leonid started this group he didn’t have any of the music sheets, didn’t understand English, and sometimes didn’t even have proper instruments (they made guitars from spare parts). He transcribed the music onto paper by isolating each sound, instrument, and voice, individually. Most people don’t realize what musical talent, perfect pitch, and knowledge is necessary to do this. It truly is an amazing accomplishment, especially on the part of Leonid, and he is so humble he simply plays among the musicians as if he is only a background bass guitarist. What a guy! We have seen them every time they’ve come to the Atlanta/Tennessee/Carolina area; this Friday will be the fourth time. We can’t wait to see them again; they’re a great, friendly group of people.

Yes Ksenia's English is very good. She's very sweet in person. She was a little embarrassed because her hand was sticky from the strawberry 🍓 (I think) shake she had just purchased (this was 2 years ago). Konstantin seems to understand pretty well. Along with a couple of others. Igor's English wasn't so good (I can speak about 3 Russian words). But through a translator, no problem. Igor's drumming is truly phenomenal.

@@shewhoiskay1 Chaka Khan's main claim to fame was her incredible range. This song in particular showcased that. Almost no one can even do this song because alomst no one has the range, Chaka famously had five octaves. Not sure what Ksenia's ramge is but it is more than equal to this song. Listen closely when she does the really high notes, it seems that she isn't even using her heaad voice. More than that, Ksenia's technique is nearly perfect. There are other videos that show closeups on her mouth as she's singing. But it is more than that as she has nearly perfect control of her breath. And then notice that she is singing in a language foreign to her as she is Russian. She had to work at both pronunciation and enunciation to get the right sound. Chaka Khan had enormous natural ability, she didn't really have to work at it very hard. Ksenia has obviously worked very hard on her voice. And then there is the band. Rufus was a pretty ordinary band. Chaka knew enough to leave them behind. These Russians are not ordinary. They are some of the best in all of the Russian world and orbit. It is hard to sing with a band and if the band is poor it affects the singer. Ksenia does this piece with a great deal of passion amplified by her vocal ability. Finally, Ksenia has not worked on this song for many years. She is a young woman and hasn't had that many years to practice. Oh, and the recording technology in the 70's was not what it is today, the highs were flatter then.

Friggin Hell!!! Leonid's ARRANGEMENT is divergent and super complicated but totaly retains the original groove and vibe, so hard to do. Of course the players and singers are stellar (love the bass kick into the groove) and even though Igor is always my hero on these songs EVERYBODY killed me on this one. And Ksenia is SO SO good without over singing. The magic of music folks, this group has it in spades.

I have never heard anything better than that! Ksenia’s is so striking a her voice is so extraordinary. The musicianship of the band is the best there is anywhere in the world. Leonid is such a master in so many ways and I’ve never heard a studio sound better. Ever! Video editing is also first class! I’m so impressed and so is all my friends. The band would happily play in Canada, but bear in mind they do not book their own gigs. There have been many attempts by Canadian fans to bring the band north, but so far all attempts have failed. The fall tour has already been booked, so your best chance to see L&F is when they play in Seattle on October 28th (assuming there are any tickets still available).

Ksenia is really sweet in person too. Got to meet her the next day after the Kansas City show a couple of years back. Last year's show, she almost ran over me when she came off the elevator the next morning with her luggage 🧳 🧳 🧳. LOL 😂 They were all running to get in the van for their next gig (Saturday evening) in the next state over. Lord willing, I hope to see them in about two weeks (this will be my third time). Just listened to this song again. Last year's show, Ksenia steps to the microphone 🎤 and says "I've got a little surprise for you ' - I had NO idea what was coming next. Then they launched into this song and I was completely blown away by her performance. Their videos are awesome but let me tell you, it's even better in person when they do this song. It was like thunder ⚡⚡⚡. I couldn't believe that I was finally hearing this old Chaka Khan song and nearly 4 decades later I'm finally hearing the song as it was meant to be performed. 👍👍👍😁😁😁😃😃😃

nobodyreally6345 I just saw them in concert last night 9/16/23 in Michigan. Ksenia stepped up to the microphone with yet, another surprise and sang a awesome song. I always wished they would cover a song from this group and my wish came true. I won't spoil it for you because they said the new video should be released at the end of this month. I'll give you a hint, the song is from a brother/sister duo that sold millions of records in the 1970's.

@@zigman8550I made it to the Kansas City September 2023 show. Yes they did the song; awesome. After the show, I got pictures with Igor, Konstantin, Oleg and Leonid separately. First time I officially met Oleg and Leonid. Igor and Konstantin both remembered speaking with me 2 years ago. Show was 3 hours long. I said to Konstantin "God bless you" and Konstantin said "God bless you!" back to me. All the guys were super great. We were applauding in the hotel lobby. A lady started it so I joined in. We made a bit of a ruckus as they were heading off to the elevator. After Igor or Konstantin pics.

То странное чувство, когда оригинал Chaka Khan звучит как сover! Оригинальный и любимый трек 1983 года мне вдруг в инструментовке показался пустым, суховатым. Леонид, - гениальный аранжировщик, мастер. Новое прочтение этой композиции звучит очень-очень вкусно, сочно, свежо. А мужской бэк вокал тут просто находка! И ничего лишнего, с большим уважением к оригиналу! Спасибо Leonid & Friends за эти 4 и 1/4 минуты моей жизни. Ксения - Вы богиня! Мира нам всем...

True musicianship is not just playing well. It is also playing well with other musicians and putting your ego last and the music first. This group has reached the pinnacle of ensemble playing. Plus, all the music they choose is very complicated. Each piece is filled with a roller coater ride of dynamics and though they are like a fireworks show the subtleties and delicate "brushwork" in their playing is dazzling. If their performances were paintings they would show a thousand different shades and colors and they would all go together for a perfect scene. There's nothing rote about their playing and nothing they play is simple yet they play as a totally integrated and well oiled machine but... a machine with soul. I get goosebumps listening to and watching their videos. In person they must be breathtaking. Bravo!!!

This has to be my favorite Leonid & Friends performance - every member bringing their A-game to this Chaka Khan classic. Ksenia is definitely the icing on the cake here - she sings it with so much soul! Absolutely phenomenal!!

Just watched the Grammy Awards. But for a few exceptions, the performances left me cold. Had to come here to listen to some "real" music. Ksenia and the band never disappoint me. Such talent!
