Almost all feline (Felidae) family capable of doing that. Evolution that branched off tiger and domestic cats before 10.000.000 BC. Almost the same time modern human and gorilla have common ancestor 10.000.000 BC.

Hunting a prey is always accompanied with risk. This is riskier by much! Typical ambush with a big element of secrecy, but a slight miscalculation would become very costly. Landing on a prey would be clumsy, while landing far gives a prey time to flee. Pinpoint accuracy & extreme agility is required. Amazing! Amazing leopard & BBC staff who have spotted this unique, quite unusual mode of prey catching!

Big cats are so determined while hunting! But it can be challenging! Our crew got on camera two lions trying to hunt a buffalo. It's exciting to see both lions in action, but also how the buffalo reacts.

This is one of my favourite moments in this series and I was saying how did that leopard survive because when David said leopards have killed themselves jumping from these heights I got very anxious and shocked but I think that she very clever and she knows what she is doing because leopards are intelligent and smart animals and have good eye sight

I used to think this technique alleged of Leopards 🐆 was a myth, but now having seen it. I guess this is real.

If I were to present this evidence of the “murder” in court as prosecutor, would I win? Did you really see the leopard leap onto the antelope and kill it? You saw the leopard leap into or behind the bushes. Then there’s spliced in part with a leopard, not necessarily the same leopard, killing an antelope and not necessarily the same antelope. The verdict of the jury could go either way. I am not saying the video didn’t show it as narrated but it is common in nature docos for film of several animals and several prey to be spliced together to make it look like one continuous sequence.
