The K2 uses a German engine from MTU and let’s face it the cannon is a (badly) reverse engineered L55 from Rheinmetall…so nahhh So anyways the most modern tank in the world will be a real Panthet. The new KF51 Panther with a new 130mm cannon (which is harder to reverse engineer this time).

So Korean military experts have already predicted that the Leopard will be selected in Norway, and said that the K2 is an incentive to reduce the price of the Leopard tank. At the same time, Norway was trying to sell 400 JSM cruise missiles to South Korea, so it was not a good deal for South Korea either. However, it competed with Leopard until the final negotiation stage and accumulated experience in applying various options to the k2 in accordance with the Norwegian tank battle environment, so Korea is looking at this experience positively.

@Noél Just 50 tanks. If they needed over 200, they would have given Korean tanks a more serious thought. Like in the newspaper in Norway, political and economic matters were more important and Germans are going to buy Norwegian oil. Norway doesn't really share the border with Russians. Is the german one that much better tho? I mean it does have more armor but that causes it to be less capable in terrain than the k2, and in places where armor is wanted more than mobility (yes, talking about Poland) armor is improved in the k2pl so it's just as good as the leopard 2a7
