I love your videos and your geckos! This is a great tutorial! I will follow it when I build a natural terrarium, as soon as my oldest crestie moves to a bigger tank. Anyway, I am a huge fan, and so are my three geckos!

I ended up going back for more hydro balls, I was too nervous that 2 bags wasn't enough! Ended up using about 3.5 bags myself. Really love your background piece! It's beautiful!

I can't wait to try a natural planted terrarium when my crestie gets a bit older. I also prefer the longer videos, even though the short videos are good it can be disappointing when they are only a couple minutes long.

Wow your gecko got way cuter from when you first got her. Also use RO(reverse osmosis) water to keep hard water from building up. Cute tank

+Cheesus haha, she was so tiny when I got her, the previous owner couldn't have been feeding her enough lol. Yeah only problem is RO water can be a bit of a pain for some of the plants :/

The one thing i would have liked to see more of, would have been the actual planting process of the plants you put in the tank. Did you keep the plants on the ground of the tank in their pots? If you replanted them in different pots which pots would you recommend other than the plastic pots that plants typically come in when purchased?

Came out really nice! Some suggest to not put animals for about 3 weeks so plants and micro fauna can acclimate first.

I'm thirteen and have been looking after a crestie and a leopard gecko for about four years now. I've always loved herpetology and reptiles and amphibians so it has always been something nice to have. Before you even think about getting anything you really need to consider whether you have the time (and space) to keep an animal. All my reptiles as well as my new baby veiled chameleon, live in my room and yeah, if your thinking about a beginner reptile I would dfinately recommend a crested gecko.

Hey this is awesome and I'm thinking about doing something similar in my 12x12x18 crested gecko terrarium. I was wondering if I need the hydro fleece layer of can I just have the hydro balls and then my soil/substrate? Also, i have a peperomia plant that I think would be perfect for the tank but I got it from Walmart and I'm almost certain they use pesticides. I was wondering if you think that would be safe by now because I've had it for almost a year and I've never used pesticides on it myself.

question on the whole clean up crew bit. what if my cresty poop on the leaves or branches. do i have to clean it or will the bugs get too it? also will they eat the CGD??

There is a woods near where I live and around every tree of the wood is a thick layer of green sphagnum moss. Is it safe to use? I used it for my stick insects before and it was fine.

TOTALLY DOING THIS!! What are the dimensions of your tank? I want to make sure I get enough hydro balls. I'm planning on getting a 40 gallon (36' L x 18' W x 16' H) Is there such thing as too big of a tank thought? and that vivarium would be for 3 adult females. Love the videos!!

You generally want a taller tank for cresties. 18"x18"x24" os generally the smallest tank people do. I would generally go for a minimum of 20" for height. For a tank too big, the only problem they might have is finding food. If you do crested gecko diet maybe do a few dishes spread out. for a 40 gal it shouldn't be a problem though :)

+luke johnson thank you :) hmm I really didn't keep track of it, I think the light cost the most at £50, then two cans of foam - around £18, 3 cans of sealant - £10, it starts to build up, it can be expensive, but once its all set up, it kind of looks after itself :)
